fuck all of them
prolly
I was really hoping for a 72 game season too.
Ya, fucking stupid. The union actually fucked themselves pretty nicely. They failed to decertify fom the get go, which was a good faith measure designed to fast track the negotiations. The owners took advantage and here we are.
As much as I love professional basketball, I secretly hope this becomes such a protracted mess that the NBA never recovers. Guess its time to seek that refund on my Lakers season tickets deposit.
players are douchebags
so are the owners. takes two to tango. millionaires fighting w/ billionaires.
half of the owners lost money last season, which was one of the best nba seasons ever in recent times.
basketball players make more money then any other athlete.
see the problem i have with all of this? now the players are going to complain and reject a 50/50 split? it's a joke
owner's have legit reasons for wanting a bigger share of the revenue. the players are just greedy

owners become owners to swing their dicks, not to make money. If half of the owners are making money, it sounds like they have a revenue sharing problem, which is an owner/owner issue, not a player/owner issue.
every other sport takes more than 5 people/team to make it up. Basketball has the smallest rosters out of any professional sport. It's not so cut-and-dry

those are all valid arguments, but i still side with the owner's.
this is what i mean:
http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/stor … le-economyMeanwhile, the players keep talking about how they're not being offered a "fair deal," as if anybody in the world finds the global economy "fair" right now. They keep telling us how going from approximately $5.4 million (on average) to $5 million is draconian ... when my idea of "not fair" is when a 58-year-old single mom with three children has her teacher's aide salary slashed. Tell her about what's not fair.
The context of what is fair is in regards to what the owners are giving up. It's not fair to the players if they are taking the brunt of the restructuring. I have no idea if they are or not, because I'm not privy to the negotiating
Owners do not need players to make money. They all got money before they bought teams. The players on the other hand would be a bunch of jobless criminals without the NBA. They need to get some perspective.

I think Metta World Peace had some good insight i recently heard on screamin' a. Smith's radio show. I'm paraphrasing, but he was saying how right now black youth want to be one of two things- rappers or basketball players. Why do they all set this narrow goal for themselves. Why not strive for something better? Maybe this prolonged lockout will show them a career in professional sports isnt the ticket to riches they think it is
they could be president
Why does ESPN keep showing what games we WOULD be watching today?
haha thatd be pretty tilting. i dont even watch tv anymoreRoc18 wrote:
