ts we always have this discussion. you're my age. you didn't go to university. you have hardly any qualifications (afaik). you drive a lambo and have your own house. and you're lookling down at finray because he "hasn't earned anything"? tell us again how you earned your lambo and house? nothing to do with your mummy at all? right. so a 22 year old with no decent qualifications has made at least a quarter of a million already. pull the other one and stop being a smarmy prick all your life. besides, didn't you get lucky by hooking up with a girl that was left orphaned? pretty sad of you to brag because you're married to a girl with a lot of inheritance/insurance money. you haven't earned anything. put the dick back in your mouth and shut the fuck up.Toilet Sex wrote:

90% of university students and every single housemate i have ever had (except one that was a super WoW geek) had laptops.nukchebi0 wrote:

unless you're a college student you need a good desktop pc anyways, except for the video card. a good video card is 200-300 which is equivalent to an xbox. you also get cheaper games with the pc and better gaming experience except for sports games and maybe platformers but no one plays the latter.
i've just got back from my girlfriend's place and she lives with 5 other undergraduate girls. every single one has a macbook except one, who has a hp laptop. not a desktop in sight.
and why would non-college students need a desktop at all? all my family members that work fulltime have laptops for ease-of-use and portability around the home. no non-college student i know has a desktop except for those interested in computer games (a fractional minority). to most people a desktop is an office workstation, and they certainly don't want one in their home.
i think your impression of desktops is somewhat flawed.

Let's just get back to bashing the Scots, k?
If I was stuck paying for college, I'd stick to a ~$900 laptop. Not sure I'd opt for an console as well, but it's definitely a cheaper option than a proper gaming desktop.
For high-detail gaming, desktops. Everything else (including gaming), laptop all the way. Even a gigantic 18 incher is easier to carry around than a small desktop and all its peripherals. Hell, I still take the thing to LAN parties. I don't need to justify my desktop expenditure by showing the thing off in person. Upgrade to a ~GTX670 aside (I have someone who wants to buy the GTX570 when I replace it), my next PC will be another laptop. 2014-ish, unless the Vaio breaks down.PrivateVendetta wrote:

but come on uzi, have whatever opinion of me/my life you like, but "besides, didn't you get lucky by hooking up with a girl that was left orphaned? pretty sad of you to brag because you're married to a girl with a lot of inheritance/insurance money." is pretty ridiculous

i just took a loan that will cost me £11.5k for a year's worth of education that i'm undertaking completely on my own wallet. i have to begin repayments 4 weeks after i graduate next year, as well as paying my own £500pcm+ rent (that i will earn myself) and other high living costs for london jobs (assuming i even get one in this market). i'm hardly living a cocaine and champagne lifestyle anymore. i've got sensible, stopped blasting through my life savings being an undergrad, and now i handle my own finances. the only "rich life" i lived was being put through a good school and having some of my university costs taken care of-- something almost every middle class family tries to do in the uk and america. i'm not driving a lambo and i've never driven my dad's. i've sat in it about 4 times in my life. i hardly think i'm living a life of luxury; i'm working my ass off to cover the basic overheads. ts doesn't do any of that yet still thinks he somehow has the noble protestant work ethic and can look down on fin, as if he has earned his flash car and easy life. he married a chick that was left without parents. his mum has a fancy for nice cars and he got a present that most people would never expect in their entire life. congrats, what an entrepreneurial move that was. when i rip into fin and camm it's because they've (publicly) pissed around with their lives on here: joining the navy one minute, going to college to become a microsoft top-level engineer the next. it's naive and for the longest time they didn't do anything, lets be fair. they kinda pissed around. plus, they're scottish. and all the while at least we were all getting on with an actual course, making progress day-to-day. what has ts done again? the guy's a fluke.PrivateVendetta wrote:

It can't be all that hard if you still have time to pursue your flaming hobby on a video game forum.
what has my wife's parents passing away got to do with anything?
♥
Didn't get taught to paragraph though did you?
that was only one paragraph.
ts i'm referring to the impossibility of you affording a house without some outside means. i'm not saying it necessarily has to do with anything, but seeing as you're always mysteriously silent as to how you afford all of these huge purchases that an average, full-time working person has to wait until they're 30 to have... i'm saying it's a pretty obvious possibility. don't get your bitch-tits out after you've been shitting on finray for the last 4 weeks.
and newbie it is my pleasure to urge you along to the autism clinic after a long hard day of using my normal healthy human brain. the ignore feature is still there, faggot.

if you were suggesting i took advantage or got luck as you said with her parents deaths i would get my bitch tits out
but i will put them away
but i will put them away

im not suggesting you took advantage, im just saying from a completely objective non-emotional perspective, that you lucked out. and it doesn't warrant you bragging on an internet forum about your 'rich' lifestyle or 'playboy' cars or your mock-superiority over fin at all. you're our age - the same as me and finray. you haven't earned any of the things in your life that you, personally, think signify some higher class or quality of life. all the signifiers and symbols of wealth in your life haven't been earned by you. so the bragging and mock-persona become a little bit irritating. i can be a smarmy prick about finray lacking an education, but at the end of the day i'm reading books 8 hours a day, working my ass off, and burying myself £20k in debt for that privilege. i'm earning it. you (pretend to or not) look down on finray because you've lucked out, whereas he has to get off his ass to earn what you have. just think you should shush up to be honest.

and not being funny tsex, just i've been reading occasionally over these last few weeks and you've been on a bit of a rampage. and i'm just a bit like "what?". im sure you work hard at what you do and i'm sure you're a nice guy, but some of the things you wave over other people's noses you shouldn't really have yourself. no one wants to be sealxo constantly defining himself by his parent's rented merc.
