Wondering why anyone is up in arms over the Otis thing. Both the wife and I figured when they went there, Otis wasn't coming back. He was either going to sacrifice himself to make sure Shane got back with the supplies, or Shane was going to do exactly what Shane did.

The predictability didn't make it any less tragic or compelling. Still a good show. Do agree on the dragging on about the girl's disappearance. They need to fish or cut bait in that aspect.

anyone else think this is dragging on a bit?

i know there's only been 3 episodes but it seems like there's only 2 or 3 things that have actually happened so far...

I have to agree with you. It does seem like they are just milking it now and it's getting a bit annoying. I'm enjoying the character development and everything, but I'd rather see something more happening.

I watched the whole first season and the first episode of the second season is still sitting on my iPad, waiting to be watched.

Is it just me or is the series getting to wrapped up in the personal lives of each person rather than concentrating on the zombie aspect of the show? Don't get me wrong, I love the show but I wish they would put more time into the zombie issue rather than all the time searching for the little girl and dealing with all the personal issues of each Character. Just my opinion.
Well, the show\comics aren't really about Zombies, rather its its about human behavior under extreme duress.

I think the first season was really good because there were clear goals. I also think season two is good for that exact same reason. Episodes 1 to 3 were just setting up an awesome plot.

Go to Ft. Benning, oh crap Sophia's gone, lets go look for her. Carl gets shot, oh no lets get him medical supplies, oh hi Hershell mind if we stay?  From Hershell's farm and the S2E4 preview it looks like things will get pretty awesome.

Season one and S2E1-3 were setting up for the awesomeness that will be E4 and the rest. Think about it, everything has stabilized. They have a new base of operations from which Carl can begin recovery, and the rest can go out looking for Sophia, which will introduce new plot points as they bump into people/walkers, other situations, whatever...

I feel like the first 3 episodes have been tiresome side quests. . .
I guess they got to the barn now, which is a major development.

... talk about trying to save money. Beginning to wonder if the whole season will be spent at this farm. Way to take what could have been a good show and ruin it to save a few bucks AMC.

S2E4 was great, setting up for a great plot twist coming up.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
Merle is back, and Daryl will have to choose sides.

Also Hershell, if the comics are to be taken for gospel..

Spoiler (highlight to read):
Has his walker-son chilling in his barn

Wonder how she's going to break it to Rick. It would appear she slept with Shane around the same time Rick was shot, so she took advantage of Rick's condition to whore-around.

To whore around? Mother fucker, she thought her husband was dead. Whore around... wtf is wrong with you? I guess that scene where Glenn and the other chick got it on in town must have sent your moral compass spinning...

I think you don't understand the situation.

Lori was already questioning her love for Rick in the flashback where she gets news of Rick being shot. Between then and Shane leaving Rick in the walker-infested hospital they had to have slept together, and Rick was in a coma during that time and still alive. If that weren't the case, Lori wouldn't be worried about being pregnant as she slept with Rick the night they met up again in the Atlanta camp and they were in that Camp a week or two max without Rick. She wouldn't be worried because she could simply say the kid was Rick's. He would never notice a week or two difference, but a month or more is a huge deal and Rick would know something is up.

Since she slept with Shane while Rick was in a coma, I think she's a POS. That's called adultery, she cheated on him. If it had only happened after she thought Rick was dead, I see no problem, but then she would have no need to be upset now would she due to what I just explained.

That is plenty of speculation right there...

No it certainly isn't any speculation

It takes 6 to 12 days for those pregnancy tests to become efficient, and Rick couldn't have been in a coma in the hospital more than 3 days after Shane left. Lets cut Shane some slack and say he left Rick 2 weeks prior so Rick was comatose for 2 weeks alone while Shane brought Lori to the camp. They had two weeks for Lori to get over her husband's death and then feel close enough to start sexing it up with Shane. Rick gets there 2 weeks after Shane left, and Rick sleeps with Lori.

Lori had NO reason to freak out over being pregnant if she slept with Shane ONLY during those two weeks as she could easily say it was Rick's kid, no questions asked. Babies don't pop out exactly 9 months to the day after ovulation.

She had to have been sleeping with Shane while Rick was comatose in the hospital before it was abandoned.

There is a timeline but I don't remember where I found it. It can also be figured out with Jenner's outbreak timeline.

Lori was sleeping with Shane before she thought Rick died. How is she not being a whore? You don't sleep around with other people when you're married until you divorce.

http://www.roamersandlurkers.com/topic/252-timeline/

If this timeline is right, then Rick was in a coma for around 130 days before Shane leaves him in the hospital after the outbreak.  THEN it is 55 more days until Rick wakes up(which seems crazy long for someone to survive even on IV, so this needs to be checked into)

If that is true then that leaves 6 months for Shane and Lori to develop feelings and fall into something.  Which, given that she was already feeling distant from Rick and then add to that all the crazy emotions you would go through if your spouse was in a long term coma.  Losing hope and turning to the person that is "there for you"...it doesn't make her a whore at all, really.

But, I would like to recheck this timeline...seems a bit long.

That's not the timeline I saw. It was much shorter than that as Rick (assuming we're realistic and the show is as well) would not have survived more than 4-5 days from being currently hydrated for 3 days legth plus 1-2 extra days because of the IV drip.

So, IF it were 6 months I understand the situation, but not six days.

I still think it's inappropriate for a woman to have sex with a man when she's already married. I guess my standards are higher. E* not saying they're better, just saying they're higher. As morals are dependent on one's view of life /religious, etc.)

6 months may be a stretch.  But a few months in a coma before the outbreak leaves time for wifey to lose hope and turn to the arms of another man.

People do some desperate things when they are in emotional turmoil.  It may not be right, but to judge her as a whore seems a bit much.

That aside...

I think I am going to rewatch the first season.

Anybody notice Shane gave Rick his gun back that had been given to Otis? Wonder how long it will take Rick to figure out that something was wrong with Otis' death story.

Regarding Lori's extramarital shenanigans: the wifey was speculating that Lori is so upset because Rick's been snipped. That would certainly throw a wrench into things...

As to Herschel's set up, he alluded to something when he said there are things of which they will not speak in the last episode. He also avoided having Rick and company set up near the barn, so that would dovetail nicely with him having something locked up in there. Just speculation, of course...but it's all right there. And I have never laid eyes on the comic books.

Guys, I really don't think she's worried about who's kid it is. Have you been paying attention to their surroundings at all? The world has come to an end! Do you want to bring a baby into the world while you're also barely surviving?

Stop getting moral, Shifty. She thought Rick was dead. Shane told her he was dead. Shane saved her and Carl. Shane and Lori developed a connection, it happens, especially under extreme stress. I don't think she was cheating on him and the series has NEVER hinted that she was cheating. Once the other guy is dead, though, that's it, she can fuck whoever she wants.
