This. Maybe you were given mayo for something else. The weirdest American food I can think of is Ranch dressing on pizza, but it was the only substance short of methyl ethyl ketone that could derubberize school pizzas.

My grandpa got me into cornbread in a bowl of milk, but I think that was an immigration holdover from his side of the family.
