Yeah I'd say it's the gfx card holding you back.

If you want to upgrade though. get 4gb of ram. It's pretty cheap these days.

An ATI Radeon 4870 might be your best option. It's cheap(ish) but can play BF3 fairly well.

Well I was this morning when I was the only one who had them, now every man and his dog has them and I do less 30-1 and mor counter mortaring and playing mouse and chicken.

To be honest his whole rig is holding him back. The CPU is your major problem. FB2 likes quad cores, high end dual cores run alright as well but an E6600 won't cut it.

A HD4870 would be better than the GTX260, but not so much better as to warrant the money.

Grabbing some more RAM would be a cheap upgrade but won't help much with frame rates.

Your best best is simply a rebuild. Something like i5 2500k, 8GB ram, Z68 mobo (maybe a ASRock Extreme 3 or similar) and HD6950 or GTX560Ti.

Funny, this sorta thing also happened with BF2.

$800-1000 will get you more than a "decent" build afaik, $1500 should allow for a pretty damn sweet one...
