Those are much more tolerable compared to a standard math class of course. Math for maths sake is a drag to learn compared to math in practice. If that makes any sense.

my math teacher said most of the shit she learned in college is useless for most real world things depending on your degree though. then again she did just straight mathematics obv but said she could still get a good job if she wanted.

she was the only one that did it cause she enjoyed math apparently and said most of her friends are making more money than her but meh to each their own.

What's your major? Stats usually only come up in math based majors (econ, engineering etc.). When it does, you also have to take calculus at some time either before or after.

For a lib art you, usually, only have to fill in a token number of math courses in your general and a highschoolish stats class in your major depending on which one you take of course.

I switched to Poli Sci/International Relations (what they call "Global Politics") actually. Their school for it is like #14 in the nation, so it was a good alternative to American/Miami.

Math Gen Ed isn't stats dude. It's a core requirement. We have the same thing here at Rutgers and we had the same thing at NJCU. You can fill it in with stats or Alg 1 or Cal or whatever else.

At RU we also have a "math for the liberal arts" or something like that. It's EZ math for people who are going into majors that don't need it. Math as it relates to liberal arts. Pretty cool class I heard actually.

When I was a business major I had to take Applied Calculus, as in Calculus for dummies. Then I took real calculus and realized how useless AC really was.
