I'm the same way. Everything else is easy for me. Concepts, ideas, complex system etc. are easy to understand. Math I actually have to put effort in to get right. I'm no natural.

In my economics classes people put down formulas and make graphs to answer questions. Me? I have to write 3-4 paragraphs explaining it out. Gahhh

Math is no different from learning a foreign language. It takes effort to learn it, but the effort pays off in the end.

The key to math is simply understanding that mathematicians are lazy and would rather use a symbol to explain what would otherwise require a paragraph. It's just shorthand English (or whatever language you natively speak).

Yep, sums me up pretty well. Ask me to peg out a 20 page term paper and I'm on it right away, even mention the word calculus and I'm already terrified. I know I'm gonna have to take stats next semester but my friend from high school who also goes to UA is really good at it so at least I'll have some help.

Science isn't that bad for me, just not really a fan unless it's Astronomy or Meteorology. Although Breaking Bad's kind of sparked my interest in chemistry again

Those are much more tolerable compared to a standard math class of course. Math for maths sake is a drag to learn compared to math in practice. If that makes any sense.
