Overall I like blackboard, though. So much easier than sorting through emails from profs all the time.

I've got one prof that does something similar except he just posts extraneous information that we don't need to learn (and no one gives two shits about). It's gonna be a nightmare trying to find what to study, come mid-term/exam time

I think the same thing for the course I mentioned. Difficulty is, he actually wants you to know these random facts plucked out of the articles he sends. Knowing which are more important then the others is just a nightmare.
