Is there really a difference besides price, I heard you can run BF2 on all high with both?
I can run all high except textures on my AGP 6800GS with unlocked pipes/shader and o/c'd a bit.Capt. Foley wrote:

The high textures stutters my comp initially, but I just upgraded to 2 gigs of RAM, so maybe it can handle it now.
Couldn't tell ya squat about the 7800 though
Im thinking of getting the 6800, save me 250$$$$ which is kinda nice.
the gs is the 6800 to get
unlockable pipes
yay
unlockable pipes
yay
256MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800
that it?
that it?
I thought you could only unlock the pipes on the AGP, not the PCI exp.Hyper wrote:

7800 GT, costs a bit more than the 6800GS but will last longer before it needs to be replaced. alternitavly you could wait for the directx 10 generation of cards:)
best part is that the 7800gt and the 7900gt cost within $20 of each other, but the 7900 offers a good amount more performance.[RTC]invaderzim69 wrote:

Wait, I have an AGP 6800 GT OC. Are you telling me I can get more outta my card besides the standard overclocking?
Nothing like maxed High's on BF2 man
With 2 gigs of RAM, mine now runs smooth as glass even on a 64 person Wake server. 1 second of glitch on startup(texture copy to RAM), and the rest is smooth. 6800GS unlocked to a 6800GT then o/ced to a 6800 Ultra.
RivaTuner is your friend
EDIT:: nm.. thought you said GS
If you already have a GT, and you o/c'd then you've done nothing more than I have. What settings do you run?
I'm tempted to throw on a 2x AA and see if it can handle it.

I run 1600x1200; high textures, models, and terrain; low/off dynamic crap; low lighting; no AA (makes very little difference at 1600x1200). I get 60-90 FPS.
1280x1040. I run a 19" Samsung LCD, so that's the most it can handle.Jack Bauer wrote:

I'm 1278*764 with a 6600 right now and 512 RAM. I'm stuck with my video settings on medium except the dynamic settings and anti-analyzing.
