youre not that bad.  instead of running spend time building some muscle, either for strength or for size.

if all you care about is losing fat just eat healthier.  if you had the same diet plan as me, id probably lose what you have on your stomach in a month or two.  hard to say without your weight and bf% though

so to answer your question, yes, you can easily (well, not easily.  you need to put in the work, but you know what i mean) get really fit within 6 months
thanks, 175lb btw.

yeah main thing i care about is losing the fat and just working out a bit. i miss working out consistently, made me feel good, physically and mentally.

i'll sort my diet out first.

honestly i know lifting is good/fun and i used to lift like a yr ago, made great gains in size and strength but i think imma just mostly stick with body weight exercises for a while (push ups, sit ups/russian twists, pull-ups, dips, body weight squats lol, calf raises) and that sort of stuff plus a good cardio plan.

so ya main thing is staying healthy and getting rid of some fat to look somewhat toned/normal.
well, here's my story if you're interested.

at the end of school last year, right before summer break started, i decided i was going to start being healthy.  i didn't even start working out until the next winter.  i just decided i would eat healthy.  in my first week, i lost 10 pounds.  by the end of my first month, i was down a total of 25 pounds.  after another month, it was a total of 35 pounds.

so in a little over two months, i went from 175 to 140.  so if you just want to get 'skinny' or get a respectable body fat percentage, you can easily do it in six months.

ever since i started my healthy ways, i have not had any soda, juices, ice cream, chocolate, cookies, brownies, chips, fast food, and any other sort of form of junk food, and i love it.

Reading theory on William Blake is a true journey into the esoteric nature of Romanticist criticism. I understand perhaps 1/2 of what is said, and with deeper thought I am able to produce only a simplified version of the arguments made.

Blake is full of shit.
Well actually I should say that the "academics" who study Blake are...

I'd say that a good number of them have a firm grasp of general thrust of Blake's work, but it is often underscored by obtuse close readings relying on perhaps one or two key words of a stanza.

Maybe 1/4 bullshit involved.

The problem with anything like this is if you take an idea that is "original" from it, if you aren't a recognised "academic" in the field it will be branded as "wrong". In my opinion all of the works by particularly Blake's style of writers are written to inspire or evoke ideas/thoughts no matter what it may be.

its not like the foot i eat doesn't give me pleasure.  i never understand that argument.  there are tons of healthy foods that taste great.  in my mind, the great tasting food that is unhealthy isn't worth the small amount of added tastiness.  id rather eat the food thats healthy, which still tastes great

i feel you and thanks for the advice.

honestly i don't know if i could completely cut fast food in my diet, cause sometimes when i'm out that's the only option.

then again as it is i never have fast food more than a couple times a month.

you really haven't had any junk food at all for that long?

damn lol, good will power.

i could probably do it but every few weeks a little candy bar or quick burger is nice.

i think i'll do fine, i'll report back in a month when i really start seeing some gains, gonna start running a lot more and eating a little better. (like i said i already eat fairly good as it is but sometimes i eat shit food on top of everything lol)

honestly, it's not even will power, because i don't want to eat shitty food.  i don't care for the tiny amount of pleasure it'll give me.  i guess it's more of a mindset than will power.

and honestly, you don't need to run at all if you're only intent is to lose fat.  you don't even need to eat healthy tbh.  as RTHKI said, just eat less.  a healthy amount is 20% below your caloric maintenance level.

yep, pretty much just eating less i think but healthier ofc (i want to and generally like being healthy except a treat here and there, cause i agree sweets or shit food all the time isn't enjoyable)

and i'll run/do body weight exercises anyway cause, well exercise is generally all around good for you and makes me feel good.

Muscle is overrated. Skinny and comfortable in your body >>> spending tons of times working out, and dieting to get and maintain mass

maybe for you.  personally, i don't train for size, i train for strength.  i think it has to do with me being a fat, weak kid for most of my life.  i probably just got tired of it.  besides, losing a lot of my chubbiness and gaining muscle has made me a lot more confident as well.

2 hours 3 times per week isn't that bad, especially since i built a power rack in my basement so i don't even have to leave the house to lift.  and i would still diet even if i didn't care for muscle.

have you heard of/tried starting strength?

it's by mark rippetoe or whoever.

i did it a year back or so. it's a serious bulk type thing though, you're supposed to eat a shit load basically lol, i made pretty damn good gains and my diet wasn't even heavy.

well...okay! I don't really have a problem with people taking cares of themselves, obviously it's just that...

I see a lot more fat kids trying to muscle up now then before. For most people it comes off as some serious compensating. It's pretty sad really.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is still one of my favorite movies. I nostalgia trip every single time. American Psycho, A Clockwork Orange, and Full Metal Jacket also kick ass.

lol, i sorta feel you on that.

just today out shopping i saw this somewhat nerdy yet buff looking white guy (manlet is what they call them i think?) wearing an under armour shirt trying to walk around like a total bad ass.

meh fuck it though,  that's pretty cool/good for you if ya wanna get ripped or whatever.

you can make small changes though to your lifestyle if you're just trying to get a little fit/healthy and feel better.

cause i would imagine most young people and college kids don't wanna be bothered spending forever working out and dieting, etc whilst going to uni and working a job plus general social activities.

not too hard to stay healthy though and go for a run a few times a week and do some at home exercises if ya want to.
