Warman there's no need to be butthurt by the fact that there is an Australian thread here at Bf2s.com. This was simply a thread for the Australian members to build a bit of a community and was a member-led... I wouldn't call it an initiative, it just sort of happened and evolved into whatever this is. And it has built a strong Australian community at this site which is nice considering on the Internet you seem to be either lumped into "European" or "North American".
Now, there was no need for a similar US thread as this site is a US one. However to be fair there was a US Chat thread and people didn't use it, mostly because there was no need to. The only reason people tried to start is up again was out of some sort of jealousy or sense of entitlement that "If they got one we should get one too". Really though? Warman tell me truthfully, do you think there is any necessity or value in building the US community here at Bf2s.com? When 80%-plus of the threads in D+ST are on strictly US matters I don't think so, I think it's pretty strong already.
That being said nothing is stopping you from posting in this thread - but you need to realise that yeah, this is the Australian thread so you can understand the pointlessness of acting like a jackass and posting "Winter is coming, not summer" in this thread like you did. If there's a discussion in D+ST about the US primaries in Spring or whatever I'm not going to come along and say "Don't you mean Autumn?" because I'm not a jackass. See how that works?
