Hmm. At first I read through all this and thought it made perfect sense, but now I don't think it is likely. We already had a set of award updates, and it didn't include many that were listed above. There is no reason to wait for a patch to make these changes, as we've seen already it is done on the EA servers. If they are going to do the above, why didn't they do it when they made the last set of updates? Why make a new slew of changes after the first, makes them look disorganised.
Either these were in the pipeline and were scrapped or they are going to happen at some point in the future, but probably not in conjunction with a patch 1.3 release.

So they lower everything in order for us to finish before BF2142 is released.... Well you may like that or not but for them it makes sense... and now i can play a round of BF2142 after BF2
What makes perfect sense is EA is making it EASIER to obtain these awards so people stop feeling the need to cheat to get them, or to run pistol and knife servers to the point EA cannot contain them nor does gamespy want to bother resetting the stats.
Its being done for the crybabies who cry not fair because someone has more free time than you. Sure its a smack to the face to everyone who got all of the awards for braggartry but who cares.
Anyway the patch is right around the corner. Gamespy does have the power to modify "CERTAIN" things on the fly like an hourly requirement but an IAR requirement is a bit different and would require all of the servers to be patched to recognize those changes.
The new patch supposedly is rumored to have a new map included for it as well. Just like how we got wake island with 1.03 but dont quote me on that one. I just have rumors to go off, none of this was officially posted by EA. So dont get your hopes up!

Considering that they are charging for 2 "boosters" that, among a couple of cosmetic changes and guns, add only three maps each, its unlikely that they will release maps for free, don't you think? It would be great - and the right thing to do by the community which keeps this game alive - but they seem to have taken the opposite route: to try and get as much more money out of that community for as little effort as possible, and also expand that community at the same time by making everything easier (i.e. ranks, awards, and even how weapons are used - like PKM sniping). But having said all that, of course I hope I'm very very wrong, because a new map that we don't have to pay for (as so ensuring that everyone get to play it, and servers are actually running it *cough*EF*cough) would fucking ROCK.

Euro Force was released on March 14 - A Tuesday.
Patch 1.21 was released on a Friday, however 1.2 was the odd-ball, being released on a Thursday.
Anyway, Sturdays, Sundays AND Mondays are deffinately out of the question as far as patch and AF release dates.

I love the new changes to the medals and ribbons and badges. I'm not surprised, I figure EA wants people to hurry up and get their badges so they feel 'complete' and buy BF2142.

But I think that this is a BAD idea - they are making all these awards easy to get, which kinda removes the fun! What happens when we all get ALL the awards??? It's going to be very boring then!

There's now a realy bad bug with the in-game browser it seems. When you sort by ping and then click a server to select it, that server either mysteriously disappears or it gets sorted by its new ping somewhere else on the list. Either way, it's very annoying
Why would you dig this thread up when there are other threads about this bug?
i was just going to close it ...lol or would you like to do it NM ......i allready closed 11 within an hour lol
