The power split during the Clinton years is what was better and what I miss. Congress controlled by one party, the Executive branch controlled by the other.
Clinton was the closest thing to a libertarian we've had in my lifetime. His focus on free trade, smart deregulation, and keeping us out of wars did a lot of good for this country. The same can't be said for the others.

I never understood why he made the Republicans so batshit insane.
Probably the leftist rhetoric he never intended to implement that he used to garner the democrat nomination. He did try to implement some pretty far-left (by US standards) policies, but they died in Congress...maybe he knew they never stood a chance, and threw them out there to appease his base. Don't know. Could be that stuff that threw the GOP into a tizzy, though.

One of my buddies is a semipro body builder (he has done magazine shots, won a few regional competitions and some other stuff) he applied at our high school to be a security guard yesterday. The school requires 2 years college to be a security guard.

2 years of college to be a security guard. talk about academic inflation...

it was not their plan, the password for encrypted z.7z file that had all the cables was leaked by someone, so it was all in the open.

The cable shows that the UN official was able to receive information from the autopsy of those killed, which revealed that each person in the house during the raid was handcuffed and shot in the head, including five children under the age of 5 years old and four women, one in her 70s.
Early on in the investigation, spokespeople for the US military said that an al-Qaeda-linked insurgent was located in the house and that American troops seized him from a first-floor room after a gun battle. The cables exposed by WikiLeaks, however, suggests that troops entered the house after 25 minutes of a shootout, handcuffing and shooting the residents once the coast was clear.
That's what happens when a bunch of idiots get their hands on hundreds of thousands of gov cables.
If the govt is going to cover up crimes like this then they deserve to be exposed.

So the autopsy showed that the bodies--which were recovered from a building that had been blown up by an airstrike--had been handcuffed and shot in the head. And this proves beyond reasonable doubt that the US soldiers who were outside the building--and called in the airstrike that destroyed the building--and not the insurgent inside the building where the bodies were found killed them (considering handcuffing and executing families is a well-known insurgent tactic)?

Of course it does.

Of course it does.
Why would they need to call in an airstrike on a building they'd already cleared and the insurgent was in their custody?
You'd think they'd want to retain evidence, take photos etc so he could be prosecuted.

Plane carrying $900,000 of U.S. aid arrives in flood-stricken North Korea.
PYONGYANG, North Korea — A plane carrying U.S. emergency aid has arrived in flood-stricken North Korea, in the latest sign of a thaw in relations between the countries.

The cargo plane loaded with $900,000 worth of food, medical aid, soap, blankets and cooking kits touched down at Pyongyang's Sunan airport late Saturday, according to footage from the Associated Press Television News from the North Korean capital.

North Carolina-based aid group Samaritan's Purse said it has pledged $1.2 million in addition to the $900,000 that the U.S. government has allocated for aid to North Korea through U.S.-based charities.

North Korea has been reaching out recently for help in the wake of autumn flooding last year, an unusually harsh winter and more heavy rain this spring and summer.

Not all airstrikes are with live weapons. Some are with concrete weapons, strictly for shock value. Some happen nearby, rather than on the building in question, for the same purpose. Since all we have is a news article that's short on facts, it's hard to say.

they will, but the debates are needed, before the primaries. what's pissing me off is the framing of the questions, and how they're trying to stir up attacks on each other. i liked that newt stood up for the candidates as a whole. i want to hear where they stand on policy, not how the can rip off one liners at each others expense.

The questions seem designed to make people look absurd. Why ask Ron Paul so many asinine questions?
