Well, I didn't mean right now, but mostly because of the economic situation.
China is far away. I bet a bunch of carrier fleets and submarines could just "patrol" the ocean between the US and China and take out any incoming threats. No need to really attack much with infantry if we don't have any to spare.

Let the military kill and dominate, thats what they do and they do it well, but to hero worship generals who've never seen real combat and get credit for the sacrifices of others is just plain ignorant. You seem pretty "patriotic" and you should know that the one thing that sets us apart from other great world powers in recent history is that despite all the fucked up stuff we had to do, we at least maintained civilian control over the military. Which, according to a prominent minority, is up to debate.
