Replying on your CV comment. Most, if not all, H.R. (Human-Resource) personnel, prefer to view resumes in a .DOC or .TXT format since they are n00bs or not with the times, regardless; I will play around with Adobe InDesign. Thks!
We have a different way of doing it in Oxford. The CV person is an ex-BA recruiter, and makes it so all the Oxford CV's have something a little different from the other schools. Other schools have started copying, so she changed it up a bit more. We have a small picture in uniform top-right, boxes, do it in Word. Most pilot people aren't computer-savvy.

Hmm, let's see. I got in to a big IT company with basically no work exp on computers. I managed to talk the ladies interviewing me to look at my customer service resume, which was excellent. Ofc I had the basic stuff about computers in order, but nothing on the server/NW side. Only what I've learned by building my own set and some exp on delivering, installing and doing some minimal troubleshooting at customers. Anyways, I got hired for Service Desk duties where I was for 3 years and now I work with the hardware itself in a Data Center team. Like Burnzz said, the certs necessarily don't mean Jack to the person employing you. They help in that way naturally, that you have some basic knowledge you can vouch for. You just need to sell yourself and show you are an asset for them.
