more functionality, better (pre) amp, potential to upgrade to better speakers in the future. pci-e soundcards (especially by gaming companies) are normally a joke that try to overcompensate with gimmicks and dodgy 'fx' software. if you've already got studio monitors get a proper audio interface too, imo. then you're already starting on a decent audio set-up that will work whether you have a PC or not.

"I'll just buy a female-hdmi to male-mini-hdmi".

Arrived today. Doesn't fit between the edge of the case and the dvi port.

because most dvi has a analog channel and hdmi hasnt
hdmi is DVI-D + sound
