I advise to avoid the lurker
I hate the British and the South.
In my first Vic 2 campaign I was trying to finish off Manifest Destiny and take California from Mexico which would have been a breeze if they hadn't allied with Great Britain. The Brits weren't tough but they were numerous and wouldn't give up. I was slowly winning the war through sheer attrition but then the South decided to kick off the Civil war.
I got a truce with GB and Mexico and managed to swing my armies in Canada down to Dixie land and quickly stomped out the Secessionist. But after the war, the economy of the south that I had spent the first 30 years of the game building completely reset on me so I had rebuild it from scratch. Meanwhile in Canada, Great Britain has massed on their border more soldiers than I have in my entire country. They are just waiting for me to attack Mexico, their ally.
So now I'm stuck with thousands of unemployed southerners in the south and hundreds of of thousand British in the north.
And I still don't have California

Never played that game, but you should conscript the southerners, send a small force to Mexico as a distraction, then ambush the Brits when they move in.Macbeth wrote:

Make X-meds a full member, for the sake of 15 year old anal gangbang porn watchers everywhere!
It doesn't really work like that. I also don't need a diversion in Mexico. They are so weak that any army I send into Mexico would be enough to conquer it. The big problem is the Brits amassed in the North. I could beat them in a very protracted and very micromanaged war. But after all of that I'll still have another war with an even strong British Empire later in order to take absorb Mexico itself. Probably with a bunch of unemployed Mexicans in California.ROGUEDD wrote:
