Machete - 9/10
awesome film, nice and violent with funny lines and over-the-top action. lots of eye candy too.

Fair Game - 8/10
Excellent political drama based on the true story about the leaked identity of a former CIA agent in the build up to the Iraq war. With the film being heavily anti-bush and anti-government in general, there will of course be some bias but it's scary to even imagine events such as these can happen in the upper echelons of the white house, and it further reinforces how the invasion of Iraq was based on the most dubious of "intelligence" (assuming all the facts in this film are true, from what I've read so far almost all of them are).
Very well acted by Penn and Watts, they obviously enjoy working together. Also amazing how Sean Penn looks a lot like Joe Wilson. Most people probably have missed this one due to it's very limited theatrical release (political accusations n' all) but it's well worth a watch, not exactly thrilling, but interesting no the less.

Akira Kurosawa's Dreams
I thought it was a beautiful film with regards to lightning and overall cinematography. It's a essentially a series of short stories modeled after some of the director's actual dreams. It's apparent that it is a very artsy film from the get go. Definitely interesting, but truthfully the endless musings begin to fatigue the viewer about half way through the film.
3/5

Just started watching DOOM, I think it could be a bad one...
Terminator 2 9/10
Lincoln Lawyer 9/10. I can't describe it, it is just enjoyable.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Harry potter 7 (2/2)
6/10
Ive seen all hp movies and they never really got to me. There was so much time between all of em that i forgot what the last few were about as soon as the next one came out
Spoiler (highlight to read):
and what the fuck was with that 19 years later bullshit, they all looked exactly the same only they didnt shave for 2 days

my least favourite of the books, and least favourite movie. the movie never seemed to flow, it was just a bunch of scenes (some being totally randomly added in) thrown together. there were a bunch of scenes where it really looked like they had given up on the last movie of the series - ie harry changing clothes from one camera angle to another, shoddy special effects in some cases. and yeah, the 19 years later thing was incredibly poorly done. massive disappointment.

ive seen them turn 18-year-olds into 70+ with make-up alone.
I think adding 19 years with that CGI and budget shouldnt be a big problem.

the Good Girl - 6/10 jennifer aniston narrates Raising Arizona style. I dont like her country accent too well. Story of an affair she has with a 22 yr old.
The Experiment- predictable time killer
IP Man 2- I liked, not as much as the first though.

That's What I Am - 7/10
A nice tale, set in your typical American picturesque rural town, this was refreshingly simple but at the same time a well polished production. Good to see they still make films this way, it reminds more of something I would have seen in the 90's. Oh and Ed Hariris, so underrated .

I fell asleep with it playing in the background one night .. the heavy breathing. The chanting. It's very weird just listening to the audio.Superior Mind wrote:

I think I had an epiphany later that night.
