its a pretty awesome car. Its the one i enjoy driving the most.
Too bad its so overpriced, especially stock version. You get a standard hatchback for double the price.

1998 Ford Escort ZX2 with 211,000 miles

~30 mpg on average, paid off long ago, insurance is about $40/month, and with all the miles it still drives great.

I plan on upgrading very soon because, with so many miles, it could technically fail at any time...but it's literally never had a component break prematurely (the alternator went out at ~150k miles, fuel pump at ~170k, engine timing belt at ~180k, etc...).  Future-proofing, I suppose.

I'll definitely miss having such a hassle-free car when I move to something newer.  Now I just have to decide what to replace it with.

Car History:

Vauxhall Cavalier, GBP2,000 - Totalled by an insurance salesman - got my money back, rented a car from my parents (in fact just bough another one and registered it in their name) while it was under dispute, which his insurance paid for -> Paid for the next car, whiplash payment more than paid for my next two cars after that (I do still have whiplash problems)
Vauxhall Cavalier - GBP2,000 - No trouble, Sold 2 years later for GBP1,200
Volvo 240 Estate - GBP1,100 - Bought at 110,00 miles, ran fine for five years, oil, brakes, tyres
Volvo 740 Saloon - GBP1,100 - Bought at 110,00 miles, Ran fine for five years oil, brakes, tyres, clutch
Subaru Forester - A$35,000 - So far so good (apart from my sister knocking down the garage with it - minor scratches on the bumper, could have been totalled)

I do pretty well all my own maintenance, minor repairs etc, except warranty and major services on the Subaru. Its out of warranty now.

That's not really a truck you put 24's on. It looks more like a work truck than a "baller" truck.

anyways i don't have my license yet, only permit, but when i drive i use my mom's old toyota camry usually. i've drove my dads chevy before but i don't like trucks since i suck at driving lol. also drove my mom's outback but i like cars as small as possible cause it's easier for me to drive kinda.

no one has ever used a supercrew with a bed cover as a work truck. Its 10 years old and runs like new. I get a oil change every 5k. I wash her every weekend. Got a cold air intake and exhaust system on her too.

2wd. I thought about a leveling kit with some 16" aftermarkets and offroad tires but i never take it off the pavement. I like the street truck look more anyway.

if it was a 4wd it would have been lifted already lol.

No shit.

My point was the truck looks like something I would see at a construction site not something that should be tricked out.

I'm talking about the frame/body.

It just screams 'trying too hard' to put 24's on a 10 year old F150. Like putting a body kit on a 10 year old Civic.

Save your money for a better truck that you can play around with more.
