I have been wondering about the rank requirements (as everyone has done at some point I'm sure ;p), in specifics- the requirements for the First Sergeant rank. I am progressing from Gunnery Sergeant very soon, and I have recently turned my attention to acquiring all of the necessary badges for the First Sergeant rank @ 20,000 global points.
My question in specific- is the Commander Badge necessary? As in, the basic commander get 40 points badge? Because, this is the only badge that is troubling me- a tricky combination of utter boredom and poor teams (I know, that's everyones excuse!).
Answers are appreciated- is the Basic Commander Badge a necessary requirement for the First Sergeant rank?

I have checked UBAR many times for references in the past, but some other rank guides on clan websites, and even on Wikipedia were very confusing regarding the actual badges required for First Sergeant. Some state that it is only the combat badges, others list some miscellaneous awards for some reason.

Larsson, it really won't be long until you reach this rank, honestly. I've been playing on and off for about 2 months, but only recently have I really became involved and played for several hours a day. If you set your mind to it, or rather, just play a lot- it really is do able. If you want to sell your soul to Karkand 24/7, it does help too, but it's not as fun and you obviously miss the experience of other maps.
Anyway, I'll let the high-rankers who really have worked to earn their position talk to you about that, I'm glad that I'm on my way up the ladder somewhat.

As someone else said, get your veteran badges for every kit over the 30,000 point gap. I find it's the only way to ease the boredom- because you will go insane if you just farm Karkie with medic for another 300 hours. The 30k point gap is the biggest deterrent in this game imo ;P.
Battling through it is helll!

Do the 'kills' caused by artillery when in the role of Commander count towards the total kills for 'x' kit that you are playing? I have played Commander for several rounds whilst as Spec Ops, and have noticed my Spec Ops ratio rise very slightly.

But, maybe have some patience in the GPU department, and aim to buy 2x8800GT's in the next 6 months instead? 2x7900 GS's seems like an awful waste of money in the longrun, because you'll be sat there with an SLI-ready, dual-core (potentially) DX10 machine, but still in the situation where you have to spend $350+ on a necessary graphics card.

Hypoxia seemed perfect, or at least the way it was presented on the documentary made it seem so. But, I'm a little skeptical. I'm sure there are some negatives and cons with this method- nothing in science is purely black and white, there's got to be some complication or some hidden cost somewhere that doesn't make it as viable. Not only that, but hypoxia actually raises the moral debate of "Should they feel pain when executed?" Killing humanely is one thing... but to 'let off' a serial killer with a desirable and euphoric death... maybe allowing them a little too much luxury. By the way, I think that the centrifugal / force-related hypoxia was a brilliant way to kill somebody- wheeee! .
