I can chit chat with random chicks in my classes for instance. IDK, it's just easier since you have something common to go off of. A random girl standing in line at Starbucks? Unless she's wearing a band tshirt or something it's hard to say anything besides "great coffee huh?"

So you just blurt out whatever random thought is passing through your head? I don't make some sort of strategic plan with all possible outcomes, but I mean if a person and I are walking out of a classroom after taking an exam I'll ask what they thought of it and it just goes from there. Most of the small talk I have with people is just that, small talk. Nothing particularly philosophical or memorable and certainly not planned.

Not having trouble meeting them, my campus is 50% women. I'm having trouble forging friendships or relationships with them

Do you have a problem forging friendships with dudes?

Yeah. I don't know what it is. Last semester I met some people, both guys and girls, who I thought were my friends. But the only times we ever chat are when I initiate the conversation. One friend I haven't spoken to since we finished classes last semester and we've been online at the same time plenty of times. Same with this other girl who I thought liked me as a friend since she told me so much seemingly personal stuff, but again the only times we talk are when I initiate. Never the other way around, and again same with this other guy.

Dunno why contrary to how I act on BF2s, in real life I'm a pretty normal person. I don't stink, I don't look like Quasimodo, just can't put my finger on it.

e: I did make some solid friendships back near the end of high school. Similar interests and what not... but I've got similar interests with some of these folks as well.
