That's nice. KYS.
Seriously. I was tempted to change my birthday to a couple days ago so only the people that actually knew would post, rather than those stipulated only via a Facebook events notification. Why do people feel the need to put up a front that they actually care or want to wish me a happy birthday? If you did actually care that much, come to the event I've organised. Don't bother spending 10 seconds writing out "Happy birthday! x" on my wall, because I care about your well-wishings the same amount you actually care that I'll have a happy birthday.
I sense much misery in this one.

Why someone who spends all day on his computer would expect more people to actually come out to his birthday party is kind of funny.

If Facebook didn't have the birthday notification, there'd be about 5% of the happy birthday messages for everyone. Go figure.

well people aren't really being nice they're just doing what they're told by an automated script on a website.

So you expect all your friends to remember what day your birthday is? Lol.

2. fucking cant get a 100% save working cause I just want to dick around now anyways

It's not that deep.  It's a new social courtesy.  Like greeting somebody with "Hello. How are you?" When you could give a rats ass how they are.

When somebody greets you that way do you go into a long winded rant about how you don't think they really care how you are doing?

Long story, short. Get used to it.

No I don't, I'd just rather the ones that I never speak to anyway don't feel the urge to wish me a happy birthday when they obviously don't care and are only doing it because Facebook says so

Tucker, "how you doing" serves as a different purpose, it's a conversation starter, anything other than "I'm aite, you?" has a segway into further conversation, be it good or bad. No, nobody initially cares how you're doing, unless it's in an extreme.

Not for me.  I killed those sites.  When I ask some one how they are doing, I mean it.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

I understand.  I would suggest then that you remove them from your friend list if you never interact with them and it bugs you that they do this.

No big deal.  Brush it off.
