does it even switch on?Uzique wrote:
i was going to do exactly that... until i remembered i paid shit-loads of money for an amazing mobile phone number on this sim (which is tied to my phone provider), and that i also gave away my ipods several years ago and therefore no longer have a portable mp3 player, either. i would just get a shitty phone that has enough flash memory to carry some music, but really the itunes integration is worth a lot to me. plus the phone number is pimp. it ends in 999 (our version of 911), ffs.
nah. the first part.Uzique wrote:
maybe someone breaking a phone has something to do with their university ranking, and their talents and worth as a human being, and their recent 5 year history and past, possibly suggesting a deep-rooted psychological infimity from early-childhood, or a social dysfunction developed during a time of great trauma-- possibly alluded to elliptically or even teased out in the open in a master-stroke feat of reverse psychology that would make most behaviourists wince...
or maybe i just... broke a phone... and want to make a wise purchase. perhaps. just.

youre using itunes on osx, its a totally different thing altogether on windows. its incredibly slow for me with just a 100GB library and doesnt have any of the features musicbee has that i use on a daily basis
please correct me?

last.fm streaming, auto djing, automatic tagging tools, skin customizations, file converters, a separate 'inbox' and 'library' (my favourite feature), tons of plug-ins, etc. not to mention i find it quite a bit more aesthetically appealing than itunes.Lucien wrote:

I think somebody here had an antec basiq catch on fire or fry their mobo, maybe it was panzer. I can't remember, there is a list over on tomshardware about what OEM manufacturer makes each psu line. May be good to check that. I'll have a quick look.Camm wrote:

last.fm streaming sucks (and im a lifetime subscriber). auto-dj'ing? what the fuck is that? i can't imagine a program's auto-sync being a good dj, other than seamlessly being able to blend similar bpm tracks into one another. big fucking deal. automatic tagging tools? i get my music from good sources so i rarely have to waste my time being anal retentive with incorrect tags. skin customizations? here we go... next. itunes also has separate playlists (inbox is just recently added), and tons of plug-in support. i also find very few media players more aesthetic than itunes by default-- especially on my native macbook osx.Winston_Churchill wrote:

but of course none of those are good reasons to not use itunes
i happen to like the last.fm streaming. when you combine it with the auto-dj it becomes a great way to discover new music. it can stream with a few other services as well but im not a subscriber to any of them so i dont know how good they are. i get my music from good sources as well, but sometimes it isnt tagged properly, missing album art, stuff like that which saves me time. i havent had itunes installed in a year or so, good on them for finally adding such a great feature though. what real plugins can you use? and each to their own for aesthetics, but i find itunes to be quite bland.Uzique wrote:

Was looking at hard drives today. I was pretty impressed by this, for $65: HITACHI Deskstar 7K3000 HDS723015BLA642 (0F12114) 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive.
I know nothing else about the model, though. But ~4 cents per gigabyte on SATA 6.0? Count me in if I was building today. Would be a great thing to cram en masse into an external array.
