He's not an extreme bible thumper and he has great credentials.
His time as an executive in the family business as well as a trade representative makes me a bit more confident in his ability to help along the U.S. economy. His time as governor of Utah makes me think he could handle the political side of being president.
He is much more qualified than Obama when he was elected. If he comes up against Obama in the general, I would vote for Huntsman without a second thought.
So yeah if you can vote in your primary, vote for Huntsman.
4 Years of governor of Utah, and 2 years ambassador to China after that. His time as Assistant secretary of commerce for east Asia and the the pacific as well as the time as ambassador to China and Singapore is what really snags it for me. That area of the world is going to be the U.S.'s biggest external issue for the near future and having someone with experience in that part of the world as president sounds great. I would trust him to handle China better than Obama or any of of the other GOP candidates.Wiki wrote:
After college, Huntsman worked as a White House staff assistant in the Reagan Administration. Under President George H.W. Bush, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for trade development, commerce for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, as well as U.S. Ambassador to Singapore, the youngest U.S. Ambassador to serve in over 100 years.[10] He served as Deputy United States Trade Representative in the George W. Bush Administration.
In addition to his public service, Huntsman served as an executive for the Huntsman Corporation, the Huntsman Cancer Foundation, and CEO of Huntsman Family Holdings Company. Other organizations he has served include the Utah Opera, Envision Utah, the Coalition for Utah's Future, and KSL-TV's Family Now campaign.
