Right, so a further development happened to my story a page or whatever back. Bumped into said girl again and this time made sure I got her name. It's pretty distinctive so I thought fuck it I'll just use facebook to send her a message or w/e at some point. Got a bit drunk and friend requested her, seems a bit of an odd decision to make now... I don't think it's a big deal. I often add/get added by people I meet once when drunk. But since being Facebook friends we can actually remember each others names so we hang out more often in future.
Didnt meet her whilst drinking, decided later when sat at a pc choosing some music as everyone was passing out after drinking that it would be a good idea.

She does know my name, plus my picture is pretty obvious it's me hopefully.
I'm always reluctant to ask for a girls number before knowing they have a boyfriend or not, which facebook helps with. I know too many girls in my age range that will just give their numbers to random guys if asked even if they have a boyfriend. I don't want to deal with that sorta shit.

i agree. ask a girl for her number, it's worked for everyone else since the invention of a telephone, so i don't see why it shouldn't for you. facebook stalking is just weird... i don't understand it at all. it's like a cattle-market: you find out someone's name and then go and connive to see if they're 'suitable' from their pictures and relationship status. urgh, no. that's one step away from being on a dating site, begging to meet ideal and 'suitable' people. just ask for her number and see where it goes. adding her on facebook may seem a little weird, depending on what sort of 'user' she is, so to speak: some girls have 1000+ mere acquaintances and others won't have more than 250 definite friends. your move, pal.

You can cancel a friend request by going on their profile too, there should be a little 'x' next to 'awaiting friend request' or similar
