It would be a good idea maybe. Keep squads small, while allowing squads to interact with each other without the need for a commander or squad leader.

you can't organize people who don't know each other to really work together in a videogame.
you can cram two players in the same vehicle, but squads and commanders don't work.
the best you can hope for is that players more or less stay in the same place, not "delta bravo I'm oscar mike to your nine why are these ejection ports on the wrong side"

I'd like to see something along the lines of having squad leader's with two fire teams under the command of each one, say Alpha and Bravo, who they can give seperate orders to. Maybe an overall commanders position as well for giving orders to squad leaders, fire support etc.

Just keep the old BF2 system. That worked fine for competitive matches. And in pubs, no one ever followed orders anyway, so no need for a more complicated command structure.M.O.A.B wrote:

squads worked pretty well in a karkand server i palyed in for a couple months. granted it was me and some guy from the netherlands a lot of the time with a few others that appeared pretty often
Battlefield 3 is apparently digitally exclusive to EA's new Orgin application
A part of me hopes that this isn't true. I wasn't getting it on PC anyway, at least until mid next year, but I know I'd be really pissed if I bought the retail edition of BF3 was forced to run it from Origin, like how some games require Steam to run. I don't mind Steam at all, but I definatley don't want to have Steam and this Origin thing running simultaneously. It is the work of EA, so I'm very suspicious of it already.

Awh for fuck sakes. I hated the fact that having to run CoD via Steam became mandatory and now EA is starting to do the same thing. What ever happened to just, buying a hardcopy, installing it and play it without using a 3rd party program?henno13 wrote:

I wonder if in the back-end if building your friends list and seeing who's online in which server will be kinda controlled out of Origin. Would make sense then. I guess.
