spotting in matches = stand-in UAV

At the start we just randomly spot anywhere, jumping over walls and hills. You don't need to aim precisely at your enemy to spot them. If someone's prone behind a low wall you can still spot them by aiming just above the wall

I spot vehicles but infantry I don't bother. Unless theres a sniper and I need to tell my squads sniper to aim in that direction.

I do it as much as possible. It's a crucial tool on the battlefield...

Once for normal infantry
Vehicles multiple times, if i'm not equipped to take them out
Infantry multiple times if they pose a high threat, near a flag/spec ops near our UAV ect ect

As a sniper I usualy spot tanks, AAs and APCs.
If I see infantry that I can not take out I will spot them as well.

As a commander I do spotting as a sport
I have the sattelite scan as one of the most crucial strategic assets. I can see everyone on the map... if I kept that information just for myself, what good would it be?
Unfortunately many commanders just do the job for the extra points or for a badge... while driving around in a tank, fighting first line or flying a plane
They don't seem to understand how bad this hurts the team.

I normally spot but I get really riled up when the split second I take makes me die.

Example: I'm driving a vodnick full of people down a road, then a tank appears on the other side.
My plan is to spot it, hope everyone notices and jumps out. So i spot and before I get to leave it blows us all up.

i spot them, all the time when on foot or in vehicle.. i appreciate knowing who is around me, so i figure that if people facilitate that in me, i do it back for them.  makes up for wanker commanders who prefer to fight and die a lot, rather than make use of uav etc...

if im commanding, ill spot "runaways" only... otherwise, i let the uav do the talking.

i have a logitech g5, and i use the thumb button to activate the comms "flower"... takes zero effort to spot... its completely second nature. [mouse thumb + left click is so intuitive]

Due to the fact that I cannot hit the broadside of a barn at 3 metres I have to spot everything so some other bastard can save my ass.

If I am Commander, I always spot enemies .. infantry or vehicles ... but if I am not commander, I only spot out vehicles ... especially armor and planes

always spot tanks/heavy vehicles, and transports/buggy's if they are trying to run to another base. Rarely do i spot infantry, as i am infantry and in a squad quiet a bit, so if i see it my squad has already seen it.

On another note. When i am a plane, i would like to be able to spot infantry/vehicles. But is there a way to set up a 1 button 'spot' key to make it easy to do so?

for the most part i always will spot helos/planes/armor. i'll spot cars if they blow past me and they're someone at the base they're heading to or a chopper/plane in the immediate area. as for infantry, i'll spot them on occasion if i'm sniping. i'll spot other infantry if i'm about to go after them so i can see where they go if they run away from the fight.

Nothing is more annoying to be running arround a corner, having a friendly run past you and you run right into a tank or apc.... Was it too much hand eye coordination for them  to hit Q and left click?lol  I really wonder about that sometimes....I always spot, because I know the threat is going to move and I want to know where so i can plan my next attack or evaisve move. I also hope that when a threat is spotted , a teammate who has the capabilities to help , ie. AT / Spec Ops uses the intel. I know alot of people don't like spoting because they dont want to share the kill but the way I look at it, If i get some help I might get partial credit which is better than winding up dead with nothing........

I find it's a good way to keep track of them on my mini map!

I have a button on my joystick set-up so it's a one button operation

Oh how sweet it would be to play with pilots who thinks like this!
You're quite a rare bread you know that?

+1 for you sir.

But they dont....
Sadly hardly ever a helicopter crew takes out other helicopters or spotted armour....

Why should they, when they could be raking up points with infantery some place else.
Or they wobble around over some flag not able to keep the heli in a steady hover.

So yeah I wish theres more pilots like you JahMan...
