and hey, being cynical... learning an asian language surely won't hurt, seeing as they'll be our hive overlords in 50 years time.
mandarin is going to become the international language of business... the time of french and english is now over.

Thats the problem.
No one takes an internship in a company, tehyre 90% sure theyre going to work at once they graduate.
They just pick an internship at soem company that offers them work in their field of interest/study.
The fact that those companies know taht they'll never see you again makes it very easy to abuse your free labour. I

i don't want to teach in china because i don't want shit to do with their government or system. 'education' over there to me equals 'indoctrination'. i'm principally opposed to it and wouldn't sell out my political beliefs to make money, considering i'd be paid by a criminal state. feels like i'd be profiteering off of other's misery in a very typically western and opportunistic way.Cybargs wrote:

and yeah kampf, internships are a form of free labour that some industries/sectors are actually entirely dependent upon. a surprising example is the happy-faced disney world. disney is like 50% interns and they have less rights and worker privileges than a negro on a cotton farm.

kamp- send to someone here with newer word, resave, and try again perhaps?
.doc files and docx are universal and don't depend on the client version. probably the website being shit.

When i was still studying law, it was a well known fact that an internship was a bitch to acquire (a proper one at a law firm or DA's office. Not some shitty social work thing) and they would just dump their simple, basic and tedious paper work on you (something they often have assistants for).
It would help with landing you a job later on though.

Thats why I am going to bitch about it in the e-mail im going to fire off in a few minutes.Uzique wrote:

all these professions nowadays are just about who you know - connections, networking, nepotism, self-ingratiation etc.
education has become so accessible (and easy, furthermore) that loads of people are coming out with the requisite qualifications and totally over-supplying the demand. the professions aren't growing but the number of people going into training for them has tripled in the last 10-15 years. that's a bad state to be in and its the reason (in the UK at least) that the graduate job market is in absolute meltdown right now.

whatever makes life easier.. but they prolly wont want to do anything that requires more steps for themselves
You know what they say, it's not the grades you make but the hands you shake.
Of course, anyone who takes that literally and gets a solid 2.2 GPA probably won't make it too far.

I found someone who actually uses the suffix "Esquire"

It's cause he's licensed to practice law, Hurri
it's extremely pretentious for a black american to use 'esquire'. it's an english gentlemanly thing. i know a few at university that are the sons of landed gentry and the like, waiting for the chance to inherit their 'proper' title. a black lawyer is not an 'esquire', i'm sorry. he should stop aspiring to the standards and titles of the honkies that used to ship his kind out to the caribbean.

@Desert I know, but even the lawyers (parents of friends) I know don't seem to use it.
@Zeek lol, homedawg seems to have some awesome credentials though.

No more thick study books, no worrying about a future career (and the ladder of slavery) and no more worrying about the study finance deadline.
rappers aren't doing themselves any favors when they make songs called "Bitch Suck Dick"
There has always been a obvious line between shit hip hop and good hip hop.
