A lot of mixed feelings in that second article. Still, I would like to think that only the extremists pose any threat. Expressing anger is one thing, vengeance is entirely another kettle of fish.lowing wrote:

now, I do note we are not talking about "all musims", but still, there is enough outrage I think to expect some sort of response.
Another question I have that has been largely ignored is, how can it come to pass that Bin Laden was living under the nose of the Pakistani military and yet, somehow, they never knew it?
Well, and I suppose this is probably my biggest concern with Islam, is it does not seem to take much to turn "moderates" into a fanatics. A cartoon, a report, an article, a killing. It just doesn't take much to spark a firestorm in the Islamic world.Jaekus wrote:

Also, 79 SEALs? I thought they worked in groups of 32 at maximum.
Guess they took some extra precautions.

Meanwhile, over here two people have gone to a police station to report the murder of Osama as being a crime not in accordance with international law, and people are actually debating it AND AGREEING with them. (they're also pissed at the cheering crowds people seen in NY and Washington)
What the fuck...
These two, one is a lawyer.

what's wrong with that? everyone is entitled to a fair trial. two sides to every story, etc.
you can't just whitewash something as nationalist jingoism because you're passionate about the subject. human rights are meant to be universal.

So when a nation orders to kill someone during wartime it's not in accordance with international law?
Should all pilots who drop bombs on compounds or snipers who 'murder' high value targets be held responsible for their actions?

Actually I feel this is extremely embarrasing. Ridiculous that it's even being considered... and agreed upon.
I have the feeling that if the brits downed Osama noone would've been complaining.

FOR THOSE THAT THINK IT MIGHT BE A HOAX: (for some reason)
Just suppose that he isn't dead. Just suppose that the U.S. killed his body double, or someone looking very similar; and then the President of the U.S. declared Bin Laden's death to the World, with much rejoicing and celebration...
Exactly how long would it take for a still-living Bin Laden to put out a video proving he was still alive?
I would say..: minutes, if not seconds.
So I think it is safe to assume that the U.S. got their man, no real need to see the pics other than watching your enemy's dead body just cuz.

There's always an ideologue. Brit scenario? They would have still complained, like the birthers. At least Bush wasn't the guy who dumped his body in the ocean. I wonder what the response would have been then.... For the record, If I were POTUS, I'd a embalmed the mother fucker in tar and hung his ass off from the torch on the the Statue of Liberty.Shocking wrote:

For those still wondering if it's a hoax:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011 … 206956.htmAccording to the official, there were 17 or 18 people in the compound at the time of the attack.
The Americans troops took away Osama Bin Laden's body and another person, still alive, possibly one of his sons.
Four bodies were left in the compound, thought to be of another son, two brothers and a guard.
Those who survived the attack included a wife, a daughter and eight to nine other children.
Bin Laden's 12 or 13 year old daughter confirmed that her father had been shot saying she saw it happen.
WH is releasing a photo.Graphic-J wrote:
