I first bought BF2 to play on my laptop up at school which is much better than the desktop I play on now that I'm home. My laptop has 1gb of ram, 128mb gcard, and a 3.46ghz HT processor. However, BF2 didn't support the graphic card and I was wondering if with all these new patches and everything if one has fixed the situation yet. Thanks.
Which graphics card do you have matey? Give me this information and you will have an answer my padawan
dude, if anything the patches have eliminated the amount of cards supported rather than increased it!OMG-AIDS wrote:

EA/Dice have decided they don't like ATI cards for some reason and removed a lot of support for they're cards.
I was originally running BF2 on an ATI Radeon 9550 but around the 1.2 patch they removed what little support they had for it, and I had to buy a Nvidia 6600 card just to play BF2.
Don't regret changing the card as it was due for a change, but I do resent having to do it for the reason above.

Argh that's so messed up...ATI > nVidia imo...I have a 9000 or something because it's for my laptop and I believe it's attached to the motherboard...
I installed the game on here (laptop) and it loaded everything super fast, but I couldn't see the spawn select screen (my only problem) so I obviously couldn't do anything since I couldn't spawn. Instead I'm stuck playing on a 1.8ghz desktop that takes forever to load. > And I can't play while I'm at college...Not a huge fan of EA ever since the whole football license and then stealing ESPN when Sega had the better game...(I'll stop now )

My laptop has an ATI 9700 mobile with 128 of VRam backed up by 1 gig od Ram and an AMD 3700 and this runs BF2 fine
I installed ..the vanilla BF2 upped to 1.2 no problems....the problem you mention where you cant see the spawn map sounds like an installation problem not hardware?...have you tried re-installing

I have a ATI 9000 with 64-128mb shared memory and it isn't on the supported cards list. I guess I could try again since I 100% would love to play BF2 on here.
So not even in BF2 SF there isn't more support for gcards? Huge design flaw imo, but then again I wouldn't care if I didn't have the problem.

Well, a "midget" cant fly military aircraft; is that a design flaw?
