I know theres been a lot of questions on how to get this, and UBAR still says N/A

I literally got it a minute ago, so i took screenshots to see if i could help people find out how to get this.
(this is also the same time i started up the game and got corporal / my new unlock)

EDIT: sgt ghost, how on earth did you get those ranks? your global is less than half of mine, yet your rank is higher

Anyone ever consiter the possibility that the requirement is like, a Best Round Score of 100+ ? Some dudes have less time in china than I do and have china ribbon. Didnt check, too lazy. But I know my best round score for MEC is over 100+. And before patch some ribbon/badge requirements is a best round score.

Heres my stats so far and i've got the Far East ribbon.

Wins: Losses: W/L Ratio: BestRound: Onlinetime:
CHINA: 12    10    1.20    69    6.46
USMC: 100 71    1.41    155    40.54
MEC:    71    72    0.99    196    34.13

So i can't see it being 100+ round score, since i have over 100 for both MEC and US yet no ribbon for them, and only 69 for china yet i've got that ribbon. So unless the Stats server is having a hissy fit from all the promotions going on today that it gave me the Far-east ribbon, i dont see what i have that would make me eligible for it. So i'm going with the Hissy fit option at this point.

I got both the Far East and Middle Eastern ribbons after the patch.
MEC at 35hrs (Best round 93)
PLA at 14hrs (Best round 82)

Time is really low to get it now it would seem

For the last time, the only requirements for these ribbons is 'Time in Service' (Global Hours) and 'Time in Theatre' (Total hours played on mec and chinese maps respectively.) Nothing else matters for these ribbons.

The only question is how many global hours, and how many hours on mec/china maps are required.

Hey there.
I think I know the requirements; and the explenation why some people receive the Mid-East and Far-East service ribbon at such different states in their experience.

To earn these awards I think you must have played/won every BF2 level as the opposition (MOC / China) at least one time.

There were two levels I still had never played as the opposition; Shongmua Stalemate and Kubra Dam.
Today I played both as China and MOC and I got both ribbons. And I dont think it has anything to do with the time on the battlefield; a friend of mine played BF2 way less and got the ribbons earlier.

I hope this really is the requirement, and I hope I help alot people out of their confusion lol

When I got my Mid East and Far East ribbons, I didn't even get a drumroll. They just appeared in by BFHQ.

I know for a fact that I just played the last map as MEC, and once BFHQ ingame updated, I had my MEC Service Ribbon. Not sure if you have to win a round or just complete a round. But at least we can shed some light on how to get these ribbons.

dont know if this will help but, i dont have scores anywhere near most of ya. but i got my infantry officers ribbon before making corporal...the very next game i got the mec and chinese ribbon. playin skills are not that good, so go figure how i got it.

i got both my far east and mid east service ribbon. im at school so me and my friend play weekly at an internet cafe- so we have pretty much the same time and points. however i have the ribbons and he doesnt. the only thing i really have on him is a few hours more, slightly more badges, and i also have a bit of command time and he doesnt, but overall he gets more kills and higher scores than me. it never showed up while i was playing. im 'nzjafa' and hes 'surfpro' if u want to check it out. i duno what the sotry is aye, its pretty weird

maybe you have to lead a squad as a mec and/or chinese team? i usally play with my little brothers at an internet cafe like nxjafa. we usally create a squad but they always want me to lead it. seems like we always play mec or china.but one time i had a good group of guys who knew what team work meant, thats how i was able to get officers ribbon..maybe i had enough time as squad leader in mec and chinese, that all i needed was the score to get all the ribbons? Hey Nzjafa...you ever play on US side as squad leader?

yeah, sometimes. if i'm in a squad people usually look to me 2 lead it because i'm a crap shot so i have more time. my friend doesnt like leading because he kills people a lot more and doesnt have time for orders and all that. so yeah usually i lead squads and i play both sides regularly, so maybe your right its something to do with leader time. its weird because you see people with more points than me but no service ribbons, or just one. another guy also said once he played every chinese map as chinese he got the far east. i dunno. theres a lot of theories out there but no one has anything solid

I posted this elsewhere, but it's applicable here also:

I don't think UBAR is wrong as such, but I have some additional information with regards to the Far East and Middle East Service ribbons. A colleague (Alphane) had managed to acquire the Far East ribbon, but not the Middle East version until last night. There was a couple of factors it could have been as he only had 8-ish hours as MEC, but he also hadn't played Zatar Wetlands.

He now has the Middle East ribbon after playing one round on Zatar Wetlands. He was playing as MEC, I don't know if that's important, but part of the requirement is:

[*] Must have played at least one round on each MEC/China (delete as appropriate) map
