Two methods of finding out:

Method no.1

Empiric method of finding out how many levels Duck Hunt has, aka the old-school-hackers-guide to 80's console classics.

Requirements:

1) TV-set
2) NES+Zapper
3) Duck Hunt
4) Piece of white paper
5) Moderately quick reflexes
6) Fluorescent light

The zapper - how it works..

The Nintendo zapper is a refined ingenious invention by the engineers of the Nintendo Corporation. Ever wondered how something designed and constructed in the early 80's could be this futuristic in its function? Point and shoot - and the console miraculosly knows if you hit or not! Here's the spoiler, which many of you probably already know. But for those that don't, here it is.

The moment you pull the trigger on your zapper, the TV screen goes black for just a few milliseconds. The spots where the ducks were at the moment of pulling the trigger turn into white squares.

We all know that the zapper is an optical device, but instead of sending a signal, it is reading one (d-uuh )

White= Hit
Black= Miss (+1 annoying laughing dog)

Get yourself in a comfortable position. Start the game. Point the zapper at the piece of paper (with the light (no.6 on the list) above it) and pull the trigger while ducks appear. Adjust the light until the game registers a hit.

Start zapping away, and hope that there is a last level in there somewhere.

Method no. 2 aka the "yeah, BE boring"-method

Google it!

99 levels. After that there is level 00. There are no ducks but the sound of them flying are there. After that happens 10 times, it's game over.
