I am not sure why the amount of ice cream one gets should be seen as news. I don't even get one ice cream every day. The article references the past allegations of underfeeding, but I don't think that is the point.

When you're a farmer barely getting by in the middle of harsh Afghanistan terrain and you got caught up with the Taliban or al-Quada and get scooped up by our military on the battlefield and then start having 3-square meals-a-day you'll tend to gain a few pounds.
