that's what I'm afraid for with even the basic pre-req courses... Math's gonna kill me. I chose not to do it this year out of paranoia it'd kill my GPA for transferring. I'm absolutely terrible with math. Everything else I do either above average or excellent in, but Math kills me. Any kind. And I've forgotten everything since 10th grade, the last year that I took it.
A lot of people are terrified of math because of the way they were taught. You were taught how to manipulate a function but you were never taught why. The why is important. It wasn't until I started taking calculus classes that it all actually began to click. By then I regretted not having done more work on it in high school.Poseidon wrote:

America needs a serious overhaul in the way math is taught in school. There's no reason that people should be babied through their math classes, it just makes them bored and dumb. Calculus concepts should be taught from an early age. It's really not that difficult at all.
