That is a huge problem, and it goes even deeper. Kids behavior and respect for authority are all but non-existent. and the parents, instead of blaming themselves for their shit head kids, feel the need to blame the schools. A school is a place of learning it is not a baby sitting service. If your kid does not want to learn, that is not a reflection on teacher or the school. It is a reflection on the parents and how incompetent they are as parents.cpt.fass1 wrote:
Not to be a big downer and just blame it on the internet. I think the fact that there's no stay at home parents anymore has alot to do with it as well.
I mostly agree, but your body has a way of adjusting to what you eat. A high salt diet will require more salt to get the same level of taste. Try going on a diet where you use half the salt you would usually for 2-3 weeks. I guarantee when you make a meal after that using the original amount of salt it will just taste salty. Same can be done with sugar. It's one of the problems with a diet of fast, convenient and snack foods which are all highly saturated with salts and sugars because you body expects that level from then on, and other things just taste bland.Jay wrote:

Edit - Nothing is likely to do more harm to future generations than the garbage that a school lunch or a dietician would serve up. I'm sorry, but it's fucking food. If it doesn't taste good it's pointless to consume it. Sodium reduction by 5% annual? Ok, excess sodium is bad but salt is what brings out the flavor in foods. American health food culture is possibly the worst thing on the planet. Fucking schmucks obsessed with their looks and projecting their self loathing onto others.
Is cisco providing the lunches?

There are kids outside my house playing curby and football all day and its fucking annoying. I'm tied between buying them a console or popping their ball. Fuckin noise.Jay wrote:
Yeah, this is pretty much it. When was the last time you saw a group of kids out in the street playing baseball or something? It just doesn't happen anymore. If kids do anything for social interaction it's going over each others houses and sitting on the couch or in front of the computer together. This is definitely one aspect of technological advancement that I think sucks.cpt.fass1 wrote:
I honestly don't think Diet has anything to do with it, I think it's so much more that Kids Just don't play outside anymore.
Can't wait till all kids have consoles and stay indoors. Going to be sweet.
Kids on my block were playing football yesterday.
Kids are assholes.
Right, but the current nanny state bs they are pushing around here is an obsession with sodium. There is a state legislator here in New York that proposed a bill that would've banned restaurants from adding salt to food. Considering that New York City is one of the best food destinations in the world, it didn't fly.DrunkFace wrote:

I hate health food schmucks. Who the hell wants to eat grilled chicken and steamed asparagus every day? I'd rather knock the two years or so off my life that my diet costs me than dread meal time. What do I gain from those two extra years? Extra time in a diaper? No thanks. I'd rather enjoy life.

Glad to see the NYC thing come to nothing, I'm pretty sure in the thread here I stated how insane the idea was. I also agree with you on the food thing, I love food and more importantly love it tasting good. I personally think anyone who micromanages their diet is a little insane and misses out on one of the best things in life.

I spent a good three days teaching myself about knives when it came time to pick a set for the wedding registry. Finally decided on a set of Wusthof Classic Ikons with an additional Shun Edo Santoku. I can't wait

Who says you can't eat well and not be fat? It's all about portion size and exercising. You could eat rich French cooking every day of your life and still be rail thin if you limit the portion sizes and go for a walk.nukchebi0 wrote:

Meat is meat. Does it matter if I want to eat calves liver or calf brain or just a straight up veal chop? No. It all comes from the same place.presidentsheep wrote:

By the same token, does it matter if my beef is grass fed or raised in a pen on corn? No. That animal would not exist without the purpose of one day turning into a side of beef. It knows no other existance except the existance it lives. If it's born in a pen, raised in a pen, and dies in a slaughterhouse it doesn't dream of living in a field and lazing in the sun. It has no concept of a life like that. Same goes for caged vs uncaged chickens. Free range chickens are not necessarily happier than caged chickens. You can't project your own human emotions (in this instance, how you would feel if caged) onto animals. It doesn't work.

Caged chickens dream of running free? Prove it.
Corn fed penned cattle dream of eating grass and lazing in the sun? Prove it.
