takes 10 years to fast track to major starting at o-1. Ive already got 7 years service. I just need 13 years and I could retire.

well do the 13 and do the best you can. You also need to know the military politics. With the right connections, enough work - you could easily make it past major. Maybe not in 13 years, but 20? Likely.

No way of steering yourself in that direction or knowing what they'll do beforehand? If you don't want to be with psyop that's a pain in the ass, are there cases of people re-entering and being placed in a different function than their previous mos?
