Three wars. Huge debt. High unemployment.
Anti-Abortion laws will fix all of this.

Forcing a baby unto someone who doesn't want it is a perfect start to creating a sick and twisted human being. Worse is forcing one on someone who got raped, many rape victims being <20 years old, it will destroy their entire future. I really don't see that as being 'compassionate', not to mention that you're raising the baby of your rapist, I can't even begin to imagine how that must feel.War Man wrote:
Yes, I would. It is the Christian way to show some compassion
Abortion to me is a simple issue: it's none of my business to decide over other people's lives in such a way. It's not in the best interest of the kid to be born in a situation where he/she is unwanted, nor do I feel it's good for the mother - so who exactly would you be doing a favor? God? Being prolife would be appeasing to dickish self-righteousness, and I want none of that.

Republicans campaigned on job growth. What have they done with congress? Go after abortion clinics and public radio?lowing wrote:

plenty of threads in this forum that have nothing to do with "3 wars, huge debt and high unemployment", and you have posted in just about all of them.
I think the point is, you have made no point.

They're working on them. But $61B in spending cuts are "draconian".AussieReaper wrote:

Where is the job creation bills?
Granted, but the economy should be the focus.FEOS wrote:

They're big kids. They can multi-task. Even though I'm not in agreement that this specific legislation is what they should be spending their time on, your point is sort of irrelevant.
There has, AR. Their attempts at cutting spending have been stymied in the Senate, which run by the Democrats...hence the "draconian cuts" comment.AussieReaper wrote:

Defunding Planned Parenthood. Defunding NPR. Investigating American Muslims. Declaring English As America's Official Language. Reaffirming The "In God We Trust" Motto.
I'd like to see some strength from the Repubs on the economy. Raise taxes and slash spending. Why go after womens rights and public radio?
And if they are multi-tasking, why hasn't there been as much focus on the job creation?
Raised taxes? Anything that is job creation?FEOS wrote:

yes, tax cuts. Let corporations keep their money instead of taking it for re-distrubtion, and they will invest it in company growth. Kinda how it works.AussieReaper wrote:

Going after abortion in light of the ecnomic situation doesn't make sense imo. They can score plenty of points with the public if they introduced bills to that effect only to have the senate stone wall.

Don't pay too much attention to him. He's a naive young kid who just echo's his parents beliefs without any original thought of his own.lowing wrote:
wow, didn't really expect that. So you can honestly say if your wife were raped and became pregnant from the rapist you would have her keep the baby and raise it as your own? yes. and you're a sick person if you would have an abortion because your child was going to have a disability.lowing wrote:

And what if he had some kind of disability where he would be a mute vegetable for his entire life, and you are not the gazillionire it would take to raise a child like that. The child is sentanced to a lifetime of pain and misery just to suit your moral high ground? There are more severe things that could go wrong than a slight mental disability or a extra finger.HaiBai wrote:
no it doesn't. you're a selfish asshole if you feel like your child isn't worthy of a life just because of a disability. what if he had some complications after he was born? for example, he had trouble breathing and was brain damaged after that? now what do you do? "accidentally" kill him for his own good because you don't want him to suffer for the rest of his life?
