They followed an interpretation of it, just like many Muslims follow an interpretation of their holy book. I know many who interpret the Koran differently. The book isn't flawed per se, it's the people who choose to follow it.lowing wrote:

I am not disagreeing that "Christians" took that action.....I asked if you agreed that they were following the teachings of Christ. Your personal opinionUnkleRukus wrote:

Lowing, if there was one single interpretation of the bible and what it means to be christian there wouldn't be so many denominations now would there? Which one of those denominations is correct?lowing wrote:

now, would you care to answer the question? Hell I will make it easy for you.
Do YOU believe Jesus advocated and taught the mass murder of men women and children?
His story is just as relevant as the rest of the book as the entire thing is considered 'the word of god'.
Same with Islam, Jay already copy pasted multipile verses, but I guess you conveniently ignore them and try to tunnel vision yourself to your own point of view, as always.
You never even try to offer a viable solution to what you perceive as being major issues.

inane little opines
Last time, do ANY OF YOU feel Jesus taught or advocated the mass slaughter of innocent men women and children?
He didn't.
Let me guess, you're using that to try and validate your views on Islam?

Do you think Muhammad and his teachings condoned mass murder in the same manner? i mean considering he himself beheaded over 600 people. Just askin'

And the same can not be said for islamJay wrote:
"If anyone harms (others), God will harm him, and if anyone shows hostility to others, God will show hostility to him." Sunan of Abu-Dawood, Hadith 1625.
"Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians...and (all) who believe in God and the last day and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." The Qur'an, 2:62
This sounds incredibly intolerant and violent. Holy shit!

Do you think Muhammad through his teachings and actions advocated mass murder?
As much as some of you talk shit about religion/the religious I have no idea why everyone is jumping to defended Islam from lowing.
I know that both Christianity and Islam are both full of nutjobs and assholes, they also contain some of the nicest people in the world. I just hope lowing understands that fact.

Now that we have established that it is widely accepted by us that Jesus DID NOT advocate mass murder in his teachings.
Does the actions and teachings of Muhammad advocate mass murder?
I'm pretty sure 90% of this forum hasn't even read the Koran, let alone the bible. So I'm pretty sure you're asking a dead end question.lowing wrote:

He authorized some Jews to be executed once. It was normal back then to wipe out people like that though.
Really I don't see where this is going.
How can I make a uniformed decision on the matter if I haven't read the Koran and tried to interpret it, Christ man. I'm not dumb enough to fall for that trick.lowing wrote:

At the time period he lived in, who didn't advocate mass murder of the enemy. The Gauls, Visigoths, Goths, Chinese, Mayans. they all did it. Each of them did it for different reasons.

lol normal? then why wasn't it "normal" for Jesus to do the same thing?Macbeth wrote:

Christianity AS TAUGHT by the man Christ is non violent and loving and accepting..
Islam AS TAUGHT by Muhammad is violent and intolerant of those not accepting Islam.
Muhammad was a warrior and a murderer, Christ was not.... how can you not "see where this is going"?

Christ lived in the same violent world, except HE wasn't violent and he did not advocate violence, let alone mass murder.
Can you not see the difference between these 2 men?

Christ died young, Muhammad lived quite a bit of time. I'm not advocating murder here, you have to admit though he was a genius at leading.lowing wrote:

Also I never read the bible, never want to. It wont change my life at all.
Christ lived 600 years earlier, two FAR different time periods.
