that crop kinda... how to phrase that... shifts the accent of the picture away from the building methinks. that doesn't necessarily make it worse, but still it significantly changes the whole composition.

yes, i see that now - for me, i like leading lines to start in a corner. Jens was highlighting the building, and the portrait orientation is nice, with the foreground trees.

it's amazing to me how my wife and i can stand feet from each other, and capture wholly different images. i do not critique Jens' picture as much to show how crop and orientation make a big impact on a picture . . .

I'm not sure about all this 'big' and 'significant', but I'm surprises how it does actually change how the picture comes about.

Might want to use the recovery function in lightroom to bring the details back in where the highlights are.. but then again, i am also on a laptop atm ..lol
