Please, calm down. I never called the US an "imperialistic" "capitalistic" shitnation. I understand that you and your president is in a rather tight position with all this Iran nuclear power crap, and trust me, i would love to see the UN kick the hell outta Iran and their nutty leader. And yes, you are by far the most reasonable American in this forum. You're no Imperialist aggressor, you're just defending your own interests, and i totally respect that. It's just that some of the people that read the mail to the President of the USA are responding too quickly, and they have to accept and understand that Ahmadinejad is in a very, very tight position. He knows that his country is going to get invaded, and that thousands of his countrymen will die as a result. What i am asking is for some of you guys to open your eyes and show some sympathy. You really shouldn't be so sure on your self, you have to think about the consequenses. These "Iranians" have already mustered 60000 men, women and children to blow you up. And their army is the fifth biggest in the world. You won't get any help from Russia, and the UK probably won't help you either, thus bringing the rest of the EU with them, maybe except for Denmark those asslicking SOBs. They wont do anything effective anyway. Your supplyline has stretched too thin. The USA won't be able move troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, and god hope that the USAF can take care of themselves in the skies over persia. Im sure that your nations leader knows about this, and this is why i totally support certain elements of Conservatism. The US people keep blowing themselves up and they make random threats, when the fact is that there is no way USA can do anything effective against Iran. You'll need the EU and China with you, and it'll be hard the way your acting now. But im totally supporting you guys, im joining our armed forces in a couple of years, and there's no doubt that i will be needed to help you guys defend western standards on a holy crusade against Islam. Like it or not.rdx-fx wrote:

It is interesting to read how all americans react to this letter. They obviously can't take it seriously and they start complaining and call the president 'liar' and start making threats on how they are going to 'nuke' and 'invade' Iran.
You're overgeneralizing by quite a bit.
I'm American, and I've not made any "threats on how they are going to 'nuke' and 'invade' Iran".
Bigger question - can America convince Israel not to go 'apeshit' on Iran?
Israel's restraint, in the face of the Iranian president's threats, is pretty remarkable. Kinda what you'd expect from a responsible nuclear power, no? Doesn't really look like the current Iranian regime is aspiring to the same level of restraint there.
I am going to call that letter exactly what it is though; an obvious attempt at media manipulation. Or, by a more doubleplusgood term, 'spin'. Politics and noise.
Oh, and as a bit of sarcasm..
If Americans are such 'Imperialist Aggressors', why haven't we just taken over Europe in the last 50 years? We've had the troops and materials sitting there the whole time..
Answer: American military was there to help protect our allies. They asked for our help, we responded. At no monetary charge to our allies. That, and the beer in Germany is really good.. and the women can be damn cute too.. oh, and they make some damn fine Automobiles too.
When does a soverign nation have the right to interfere in the affairs of another soverign nation?
Sticky question. How about a few general guidelines?
*When one nation's government actively engages in Genocide, or threatens to do so.
Iraq's treatment of the Kurds certainly qualifies. 300,000+ dead, in chemical warfare attacks - because they were Kurds. Bosnia qualifies. Somalia qualifies.
*When one nation annexes another nation.
Iraq's invasion of Kuwait qualifies.
Note the term 'annex'. America has never annexed another nation (could argue about the native american indians, but that's another topic..). We have always given any invaded country back to the people that live there. Usually at great monetary expense to the American taxpayer.
(Germany, Japan, Kuwait, France......). All because it was the 'right thing to do'. A 'thank you' would be nice. Not treating our soldiers like crap would be appreciated.
*When one nation becomes a state sponsor of terrorism.
Terrorism is not when a civilian is accidentally killed in a military action. Terrorism is when the primary target of combat activities is directed at the civilian population, for the expressed purpose of inciting 'terror' in the civilian population. Hence the term 'terror-ism'.
Jihadis blowing up Israeli markets is terrorism.
Kidnapping and beheading civilians, then showing the gruesome scene on Al Jazera - is terrorism.
Hijacking civilian airliners and ramming them into civilian buildings - is terrorism.
The PLO killing Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics - is terrorism.
I've tried to be a reasonable American on these forums.
Call it an attempt to show a few Europeans that we're not all 'ignorant, aggressive rednecks'..
Today, I'm just going to rant for a bit.....
[Edit: Y'know, nevermind... I've plenty of previous posts in Debate/Serious, making the same points. If you're curious, look them up. I'm going to go read a good book, or blow something up in BF2. TTFN]
our supply lines were stretched much more than they are now during ww2 and the cold war. this is nothing compared to the 20th century. If anything we completly engulf iran with military forces on both sides of the border and the most powerful navy in the world floating about somewhere.Sh1fty2k5 wrote:
