Lol just lol.
I disagree the behavior displayed in New Orleans would be funny, if not for how pathetic and tragic and disgusting it was. The Japanese has set the bar for how all civilized nations should carry themselves when faced with such a crisis.

Oh wait!! Were you laughing at my observation without showing me how wrong it is? For that, not much I can say except, go figure "just" go figure.

Does this mean you have no books for me to read on the honorable behavior of the citizens New Orleans during crisis? Still waiting for any selections you might have on the subject.

Couldn't be none of you have a real response because you can not defend New Orleans behavior in the face of how the Japanese people are conducting themselves could it? Nehhhhhhhh

lol, there is none zero zilch nada, looting raping murdering in Japan in a crisis far worse than anything New Orleans experienced, yet New Orleans was riddled with looters, crime and people taking advantage of the situation and each other. Now, are you gunna compare the behavior of the citizens or just try and argue, that I am generalizing?

It is a direct comparison, now make that comparison with YOUR observations of the 2 societies and their behavior in crisis and post what you think.

What I notice is that government response to this mega disaster has been infinitely better than what was done in new orleans, that was a major fuck up.

So my Sister has made it out of Tokyo at last, arrived in Singapore last night, happy days oh happy days.

A quick comment on what Lowing has said about the behaviour of the Japanese people. My sister has said it is been calm, the queues at the markets have been orderly & the police presence has been minimal around the markets in Tokyo, food is shared out as equally as possible & so have many other essential products, neighbourhoods have looked after the elderly & infirm without even being asked. My sister even had one of her Japanese neighbours give her some sanitary towels in case she needed them as she had plenty. The culture out there is one of looking after each other & sacrifice, there are few other cultures like it especially our western culture. My sister said she felt guilty at leaving initially, then another aftershock hit the airport & she couldn't wait to get out.

OK so you think the Japanese, faced with an earthquake, tsunami, flood and a nuclear meltdown, still on day 7 with no crime at all, has no comparison to the looting, raping murders and other crimes started on day 1 after the flood in New Orleans because of their govt. and not their moral and social values? Oooooooooook, any chance you can explain how you can say that?

No, I'm saying that they're helping their population much better than what the US did at that time. Sure, Japan has different social values and are famous for it all over the world, even before this disaster.

I don't know wether the situation is very comparable either, though. This disaster is on a whole other level entirely, have populated areas of the US ever been struck by a quake in the 9.0 range? Did looting happen then?

read monkey spankers post, the PEOPLE are helping each other through this.

no the US has never faced a 9.0 earthquake. In fact our crisis' have been to a far lesser impact compared to that of Japan's, yet, the behavior of NO and LA has been far worse. hence my observation

in other words let me know when you read about large scale Japanese looting and raping and shooting emergency responders during this crisis

lowing, when Katrina happened did you fly to New Orleans and lend a helping hand? If the answer is no, you're just as guilty.

Actually I am not "just as guilty", I didn't fly to New Orleans and rape murder and loot.

and that is one weak ass argument, this isn't about me, this is about the Japan in crisis and New Orleans in crisis. Now compare.

I've seen it on the news yeah, family values and levels of respect in Japan go far beyond what we have here, but I have also seen close to 100.000 soldiers helping in the relief efforts, with countless of other aid organisations involved.

I wonder if people would act the same way in the US if everything was pretty much.. gone. You've seen the levels of destruction, -nothing- was left standing after the tsunami went over it.

We have a different culture dipshit. It happens to be the same culture that you take pride in when things are going right. That whole individualism thing and personal responsibility is a double edged sword. It means when shit goes wrong we look after ourselves. The Japanese as a culture subvert the individual to the whole. They are the ultimate collectivist/Borglike culture.

The fact that you're too fucking stupid to recognize this and instead are using it as an occasion to lament the fact that you have to share your country with black people just makes you pathetic.

Oh so you are saying personal responsibility and individualism means you have free reign to rape murder, loot,  shoot those trying to help you, and take advantage of those seeking assistance. Wow, I think you have a lot more to learn about what personal responsibility and individualism is all about.
