State workers are NOT covered by NLRA.
I did say that:
The law also protects employees rights to act together, with or without a union, to improve working terms and conditions, including wages and benefits. These are known as protected concerted activities.

Could.... could be used by the Wisconsin public workers for a court challenge.
Read what? You've posted air. Zero substance. Nothing Wisconsin has done is illegal.

There will be a court challenge to the bills passage.
There is, at this time, the recall movement pushing for the most recalls in U.S. history. Both Dems and Repubs are on the list.
Most definitely going to keep an eye on this for the out comes.
I don't think you understand how despised unions are in this nation. We, the majority, view union members as lazy, overpaid  leeches. We, the majority, prefer to be paid what we are worth, not what a pay scale dictates. We, the majority, prefer to not give a large portion of our wages to union reps even lazier than the rank and file.

Unions served their purpose. Thanks for the forty hour work week now fuck off.

You have been conditioned by years of right wing propaganda to view unions poorly.
Unions are socialist, socialism=Communism
I've seen more lazy, overpaid leeches in my industry, in management then in the union.
Now, I don't know about the unions in the states but, here the dues payment is two hours a month... I dont call that a large portion, it's less then my health care plain at $75 a month.
Again here, the reps are most definitely not lazier. Most outside of a assembly plant, that I know of in my local, have jobs on the floor and get time off the lines "As required" for their positions up to and including unit Chairs..
I know when I was a rep that my day was 8 hours pay for a 12 hour day. Two before the shift and two after on average.
Different unions have different standards and different contracts
I do know the my union is run VERY differently then the same one in the States. It's one of the reason's we split off of them.

No, I'm educated, not brainwashed. You're the type of moron that keeps sending his own job overseas and then cries to politicians for a bailout. Zero sympathy for unions.

My mom has been a union member for the past 25 years and its done jack for her except garnish her wages. Why? Because she's a hard worker and keeps her nose clean. The union is just there to protect the shitbags and keep them employed. Unions in general do nothing for the top and everything to thwart natural selection at the bottom.

Because of your own proffessed love I assume you are one of the lazy shitbags.

This is about public employee unions, whose salaries are paid by the taxpayer.  The answer is not more government jobs, but simple cost cutting, which collective bargaining has prevented.

Tell me how a the CBA made more government jobs?
No, I'm not trying to be a smart ass.
What part of this CBA made more public jobs. I would really like to know.

I ask as any CBA I've dealt with has the clause:

"It is the exclusive right of Management to: hire, fire, promote, demote, or set the hours of work."

From the site StateMaster.com

Wisconsin rates as #8 nation wide Best Educated Index list.
Ranks #7 in grade 8 math
Ranks #17 in grade 8 reading
Ranks#4  Students Above Proficient Grade 8 Math (36%)
Ranks #13 Students Above Proficient Grade 8 Reading (35%)
Ranks #15 in Elementary & Secondary Finance Current Expenditures
Ranks #25 in Elementary & Secondary Pupil/Teacher Ratio (15.1 students per teacher)
Ranks #14 in High school diploma or higher, by percentage 88.8%

I guess if you rank 17th nation wide but, according to you 2/3 of your grade 8 can read... the States must be in worse shape then I thought.
36% are Above the national average in reading and 35% in math

"Sorry, but if you want a day off to protest you don't ask for fake sick notes. You just ask to skip the day"
Don't know their contract but, mine is a note or disciplined. Three disciplines over a year and it's a three day vacation. Take three days with out a note and it's out the door.

"They probably didn't even want to be in the union but were forced to. They just want to do their job and live their lives but can't because of their fuckhead colleagues."

To quote someone else:
Don't like it, move to another State. No one made them live there.
In this case a "Right-to-work" state.

And I'm still waiting on what the Wisconsin Governor and his buddy's are giving back.

Interesting article... really.

Just some things in the article that make me question.

"Wisconsin public school eighth graders once again scored an average of 266 out of 500 on the NAEP reading test."
"Nationwide, only 30 percent of public school eighth graders earned a rating of "proficient" or better in reading, and the average reading score
on the NAEP test was 262 out of 500."

Still doing better the the average.

Maybe you consider the truth to be rude. Unions are designed to equalize productivity down to the lowest denominator. There is zero incentive for any talented and/or motivated individual to excel. Why bother when your paycheck is determined by seniority rather than merit? Thus unions only benefit the bottom feeders and allow them to achieve compensation they did not earn. Thus my logic is sound: if you like your union its because you benefit from it. If you feel you are benefitting it means you doubt your own talents or possess none. That's my take anyway.

So kindly take your rhetoric elsewhere. I believe the rest of this board has too much self worth to ever want to submit to dehumanizing pay scales so you are wasting your breath.
First off:
The truth is not rude... it's just the truth. Your comment "lazy shittbags" was. As lowing would say "if you can't defend your point, call it names to win".

Second:
My paycheck is NOT determined by my seniority, it IS determined by my job.
My plant has a 15% fail rate for the first three months of employment. Whats the rate where you are?

Third:
I Do like my union. Best employment I've ever had because......

Forth:
Where I am there is incentive for the motivated and the talented. Just finished a month at the Company training facility teaching management on error proofing on line operations.... and got bonus money for doing it.

Fifth:
The most dehumanising employment and pay scales I have had was in non-union environments. If you had read some of my previous posts in this thread, you would see I listed them.

Did a check on the NAEP site....

Eight States did better the Wis. Only two are "right to work".
Thirteen are " not significantly different". Of that, five are "right to work" States.
Sixteen were worse. All but six of them are "right to work" States.

To me, it looks like "right to work" and education levels do not work out well.

Or, Wisconsin could become a right to work state could which is what Walker and his what you call "buddies" are trying to do. Some Unions here pattern after the Unions in the States.

That is a business moving different thing than finding a different employee. Some companies prefer quality over quantity anyway.

Got a question for you, how exactly does a right to work state effect education anyway? Teachers are still gonna be part of the union anyways.
