Watched inception for a second time. It was more enjoyable this time, just because I didn't have to focus on understanding the plot as much. When you are more familiar with the concept it doesn't seem as far-fetched as the first viewing. I honestly think that the huge success of this film (8.9 on IMDB) is partly down to the score, it is a fantastic score and I can see how somebody who didn't even follow the film very well, could still walk out of the cinema with the feeling they had seen a fantastic film, Hans Zimmer is a genius in that regard.

I really loved inception, don't get me wrong here, I've seen it twice and really enjoyed both viewings. But it's not as complex as it looks.

Also Taken wasn't that bad.
I liked the fact that the "good guy" is a bad ass that kills and tortures everybody.

disappointed, really. didn't think a director would adequately be able to condense and express marcel proust's masterpiece in the form, mode and length of a cinema-film. some fantastic performances by the central characters (including a very effortless and very naturalised john malkovich), but really it left me feeling something more to be desired. there is so much magic and genius in proust's writing that could be translated or adapted formally/thematically to a film... but ruiz didn't really hit the mark, here. i suppose for any proustian this is an interesting watch - respectable and entertaining - but nothing groundbreaking, and definitely no big compliment to the original.
