So lowing, someone who's never used Twitter, is telling Twitter users what Twitter is used for. Am I reading this correctly? You clearly don't "get it", because the uses of Twitter are incredibly varied and you stick to thinking it's useless because you heard people follow Lady GaGa... as if that's the only account they follow.
Of the 550+ people I follow, I follow:
- Several breaking news accounts which allowed me to find out about the BP Oil Spill, Gabby Giffords' shooting and The Wikileaks Debacle all before I would've watching TV news
- Shuttle launch information and astronomy accounts that allow me to track NASA activity and the SDO
- My favorite sports teams, athletes and sports journalists allowing me to keep up with them and get news I normally wouldn't elsewhere
- My friends, and it serves the same purpose of Facebook in that regard
- My favorite bands so I can keep track of new releases/tour dates
- Several Downtown Manhattan accounts that allow me to know what's going on in my area, deals, construction info
- My college and prospective colleges I want to transfer to for finding out events, news, etc
- Several tech related accounts (MS, Xbox, EA, Bethesda, DICE, several individual game accounts) for new products, game news
But because Lowing knows Lady GaGa and some other celebrities have an account he thinks Twitter is useless... okay.
