That's the way to do it. We also allow them and teach them to shoot a chimpmunk .22. Very small and hillarious.

anyone owned or used the taurus judge?  what's the 'verdict'?   the little lady likes it, but i vote traditional 12g shotgun for home defense.  that judge looks more like something you'd want to carry for personal protection.

Got a question for anyone who does much rifle target shooting. A mate of mine just got the Remington 700 Target Tactical. Although I haven't yet shot it, he assures me it is sighted in. Now, the scope he has is a mystery to me. It's specifically a target scope, and it's got a logo of an eagle.

Edit: It's got 10x-25x zoom and cost about 650.

Any ideas as to what it may be?

At the end of the video you hear one of the guys say, "Nope. No more iron."

So, I assume they were shooting at an iron target straight on...which would lead to the ricochet back at the shooter.

I didn't think it was possible to have it bounce straight back like that, hard enough to do any harm...

You'd be surprised. It's very possible.

so, who makes a good tool for removing the primer crimps you get on some .223 brass?
I use a Lee Primer Pocket Cleaner on my 223 brass. My brass is mixed, some with crimps, some without. I use the Lee on all of them and only had a couple that wouldn't seat the primer. I just ran the Lee through them again and set the primer without issue. I chuck the Lee cleaner in a drill and hit them quick. So far it's worked well for me, but I don't know exactly how much of the brass was actually crimped.

If my main concern was removing crimps I'd get this (Hornady Primer Pocket Reamer Tool Small) and chuck it in a drill.

I picked up one of these (Moto Tool Foot Pedal) for under $8 (they've recently gone up in cost). It should come in handy for prepping rifle brass. I plan to clamp a drill to the bench, and chuck my case trimmer and pocket cleaner in it, not at the same time of course, and run the drill off the pedal. That way I have 2 free hands to chuck the brass in the holder and chamfer/deburr the cases. Should speed up the process considerably.

The reamer is definitely the right tool for the job, but so far I've gotten by without it. I plan to pick one up in the future though.

Here are 3 random Lake City cases I just pulled out. These have been sized, deprimed, trimmed and the pockets cleaned with the Lee Primer Pocket cleaner. Using my press the primers went right in. I'm using CCI small rifle primers (No. 400).

Have you tried cleaning the pockets and inserting a primer?
If not, give it a try. Don't force it though and make sure you wear safety glasses.
