in spirit yes, but the reality is the United States and Mexico are two seperate countries with defined boundaries.rawls2 wrote:

Earlier I was posting in a thread about Iran going nuclear. My comments were vary broad. I said that if we went to war with Iran, in essence it would be a holy war. I still beleive that. Cristians vs. Muslims. Mexico , in this case would be an ally and those bounderies that divide us would become transparent.
i totatly disagree with that bro. Even if it does turn out as Christ v Muhummad, it would only be the hajis (term of enderment coming from me) who will see that. In fact, one could argue that we are already fighting that war since their reason for fighting is mostly religious. But regardless, when has Mexico been a military ally of the US. Never. Never Ever. Not once mexican and american soldiers fought together in war. True mexico did send squadron of fighter pilots who served admirably in the pacific theater, but thats is really not much of a contribution to the military fight on the global scale is it? Why isnt mexico in iraq? We will never have a relationship with Mexico as we do with the UK. Where was mexico in every war to begin with? Now, if I am mistaken please tell me because I like to learn something new every day. My parents are immigrants from latin america (nicaragua, Dominican Republic) but I am 1st, 2nd and last an American.rawls2 wrote:

Yeah, that pretty much summed it up. A Seabee friend of mine called them haji's as well, as did the marines he was rolling around the sandbox with.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

We were once at war with Japan and now they have a few thousand soldiers in Iraq. Things change. Iraq is a two fold war. First it established permanent bases in the middle east were we can stage further campaigns in the region. Second, I dont care what anyone says, we went in there to settle a score that Bush #1 had. No country , Mex included, would be part of that. Anyways check this out.
"El Escuadron 201 (also known as "The Aztec Eagles") was a Mexican fighter squadron that aided the Allied war effort during World War II. Squadron 201 was composed of more than 300 volunteers – 36 experienced pilots and the rest ground crewmen. The ground crewmen were electricians, mechanics, radiomen, and armament.
This marked the first time Mexican troops were trained for overseas combat. The "Aztec Eagles" flew 59 combat missions, totaling more than 1,290 hours of flight time. They participated in the Allied effort to bomb Luzon and Formosa (now Taiwan) to push the Japanese out of those islands. During their fighting in the Philippines, 5 pilots died (one was shot down, one crashed, and three ran out of fuel and died at sea)."
It happened before and it can/will happen again.

im really glad you brought up the Aztec eagles. Just shows I know what Im talking about off the top of my head from the prior post. The Japanese soldiers in Iraq are performing strictly humanatarian mission in a very calm province in iraq, and there numbers are not in thousands. I was part of a huge operation that ran from kuwait through where they are at now that was responsible for escorting their convoy whenever they were in our patrol sector. Its the size of a battalion sized TF. The japanese contribution is minimal.rawls2 wrote:

And also, you seem to back up my point, one squadron when the entire world was at war?
The Aztec eagles were nevertheless, under american colors

are you mexican rawl, or american?
Dude, your asking a close to third world country to commit something they barely have. The fact that they sent something speaks volumes. How many troops do we have in the ME compared to lets say Brittian? Does anyone say that this contribution is minimal?
your right, but then, how would that change if the same thing happened today. the mexican military is, im sorry, crap. no different than it was 60 years ago, probably less effective. Its more of an internal police force and they are having problems with that. What has changed in 60 years. Although mexico's economy has become quite strong within the last ten years.rawls2 wrote:

Well hell!! Mexico has an immagration policy and I don't see anywhere in it that allows you to move to Mexico illegally, work illegally, NOT pay taxes and live off of Mexican social services all the while you send your illegal wages back home to your native country. Plus I don't see provisions for my "right" to wave the American flag and protest the fact that I can't be there illegally while I trash the Mexican govt!!....Hmmmmmmm what a bunch of RACIST MOTHER FUCKERS THEY ARE DOWN THERE HUH GUNSLINGER???!!!
this is the second and last time Im addressing this same issue. First why the fuck you so defensive? For such a non racist person you seem to get a little angry when someone even hints about the subject, then you conveniently twist it around to turn into reverse racism bullshit. I think the fucking rallies are fucking retarded. I fucking agree with you. Okay. I CALLED PEOPLE RACIST WHEN THEY SEE A BUNCH OF HISPANICS IN A GROUP AND ASSUME THAT THEY ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS (by the way youve been spelling immigrant wrong for like the last 2 dozen posts).I DONT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I GOTTA REPEAT THAT. IM NOT CALLING PEOPLE (IN GENERAL)RACIST WHO HAVE OPINIONS ON THIS ISSUE. But go ahead, If you think Im calling you racist...rage on. Apparently that strikes a nerve with you, but honestly I dont care if you are or not. And if your gonna tell me that the same people who support your argument arent racist, dont insult my intelligence. From reading a bunch of bullshit comments and jokes from the whole lot of you, dont try to claim that you dont have a predisposed opinion on hispanics in general. I found those fucking jokes offensive, just thinking about the kind of people they were coming from. But I expect to to read a lot of "your racist for calling me racist" now, dont waste your time. If you think I was calling YOU a racist and you feel like defending an argument that wasnt intended for YOU, then fuck off I dont care what you gotta say because in my mind, why would you be so goddamn defensive over a label that you claim does not pertain to you. God damn it, Im more American than most you so called patriots ( not you lowing, i know your deal, but you know where im getting at) and yes I was fucking born here too. But I bet if you saw me in the street youd think I was some day laborer like the rest of them spics. Again, Lowing, I would like to emphasize that last sentence wasnt directed at you but to anyone who feels like they fit that description.
Tu Stultus Es
And no body cares except the hispanics who want America to relax it's immigration policy until they and theirs get here and then you watch.
They will then say we have enough people from South of the border. Runaway illegal immigration only makes sense to those trying to cash the gates.
Again, the people I know who talk the most shit on mexican illegals are other Hispanics from Columbia and elsewhere whos parents migrated here legally.

In short, we are being assimilated.
The good news is that Spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn. It really is one of the most practical languages out there. Spellings are easy, and when they set a grammatical rule, they consistently follow it.
