Oh
Finally finished cleaning my PC...
Installed the card reader, it didn't really fit so had to make it fit, making holes bigger etc.
Only broke one thread too and now that screw is stuck halfway in and will probably rattle my ears off

What are some quick, simple, easy, free malware programs I can run off a USB stick? I think my brother got a virus. He's on XP SP3, x86. I booted into safe mode and installed Spybot, but couldn't run a scan because it begged me for an update. Annoying. He's got AVG Free installed and I'm gonna try running a scan from Safe Mode tomorrow.
Whatever the problem is, it's known as "System tool". Can't run any programs at all.
I seriously have no experience in dealing with viruses or malware or adware or any of that shit (knock on wood). This is a fun new experience!

haha.. my mom got that.
yes, you need to boot into safe mode or you can't do anything. I got rid of it running a program called superanti-spyware remover .. or something like that. It was in a removal guide. I also ran malware bytes
.. get this and run it in safe mode http://www.superantispyware.com/
It worked

MBAM worked on a piece of Malware for me, that Avast and SpyBot didn't find.
It's wierd for me when I use spybot these days... I remember back when it searched for 30k items, these days it's what? 3mil / 300k?

However, feel free to use it afterwards. I also used hijack this, malwarebytes, and start>run>mrt>enter... just to be safe.

I installed both Opera and Chrome today. Chrome hasn't worked since I installed it and Opera worked for a bit but kept disappearing. Neither show up in my notification area or in task manager. Any ideas why they won't work for me?

And installed. No obvious change, no problems either.alexb wrote:

No performance increase for games.

You don't want better performance? There have been considerable improvements in previous OS service packs.FloppY_ wrote:
