Can't tell if srs.

But anyway, 1,700 is pretty low. Do you get hungry all the time?

Well I don't reckon you should feel guilty. As long as you're not eating like 5,000 cals or something ridiculous like that on your "cheat" days you should be fine.

Also remember the cardio you're doing is burning up a fair few cals anyways.

saw a study on the news just now that said stretching does not prevent injuries versus not stretching.  found that interesting since i dont stretch.

Thats old, stretching is more about wringing the toxins out of your muscles so they're ready to work hard.
Warm-ups are more important for preventing injury.

I've read ballistic or dynamic stretching before workout is best, and static stretches afterwards.

I've also read a study that says you don't have to stretch before workout. But you should definitely do static stretches after lifting weights. They stretch the muscles out and encourage growth.

Yup, that is true. I never stretch before a workout, I actually feel as if my muscles tire if I do so. It also doesn't really help in any way.

The study was made about 2 years ago but most people still ignore it unfortunately.

No, Haibai... there actually aren't. This study was pretty conclusive - if you look at stretching in a team about 5 years ago, you would see that everybody just did static stretches, but now it isn't encouraged until your muscles are warmed up, and even then it should be light static stretching. Dynamic stretching is a different thing altogether because it's pretty much like doing exercise already, whereas static stretching is an unnatural thing for the body.

Static stretching is only recommended for those who have very tight muscle areas - in which case it does help because it loosens them up... but in any other case you shouldn't be doing them before a workout. I have to do lower body muscle stretches because my hamstrings and calves are ridiculously tight, but upper body I don't touch and I don't get injured.

Got back into it today after a week off with the flu. Upped weights and could only get through half my routine. It was pretty fkn hot though, 33 C with 60% humidity. But felt good to be back into it

Getting close to BW benchpress. Did 60 kg today, so 5kg more and thats another goal reached.
Have already reached 1.5BW squats and i still need 30 more kg on my DL for 2BW.

Reaching goals and general progress feels good man.

Alright, got back to the gym today. Day 3 of 5x5. Felt the burn in my legs by the end of squats, burn in my upper back after rows and my arms feel tired after the bench.

also calculated my BMI, I'm overweight lol, feelsbadman.jpg

Right. Squats.
Past parallel or only go as far as parallel?
The 5x5 guy says go past it, and he says everyone else will tell you to do it the other way out of fear for your knees.

I do parallel, but not out of fear for my knees, but because me knees are already ruined, so i cant really go that far past parallel without having pain.
Its nothing serious, I'm just not as flexible in my knees as i used to be.

tl;dr: Go past parallel if possible
