More on the cute/pretty side but attractive nonetheless. She was really friendly, super chill, seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. When we parted ways she said "text me!!" for what it's worth.KuSTaV wrote:

Torn over whether to text her tomorrow asking if she's free for lunch or just wait till I see her again on Thursday, get to know her more, then text her to hang out.

e: she asked for my number cos I mentioned how I usually have a lot of empty time as a commuter between my last class and any meetings I have... she was like "well that means you need someone to hang out with! can I have your phone number?"

thanks ken what's your opinion on my "dilemma" though? Part of me figures that it wouldn't come off as "desperate" if I invite her to lunch tomorrow since she basically asked me to text her, part of me thinks it'd still be better if I wait a bit.

Go get coffee or lunch or whatever. You aren't going to come off as desperate unless you tell her you love her or something stupid like that.
I read Shakespeare, Austen, Voltaire, Bradbury, Remarque, Salinger and Steinbeck that I remember... Oh, and Dickens...KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

reading list? this will be interesting
read an article the other day slamming universities that teach 'arts' and 'humanities' but teach severely watered-down versions... i.e. no ancient classics, no hard-texts, no theoretical texts, etc. there are a lot of low-mid level colleges in the US and in the UK that teach literature courses based on really quite undeserving texts and ideas. i have some friends at crappy unis over here doing literature and creative writing degrees and they stuff they have to read and study is absolute pulp.
I had to read Shakespeare, Bronte, Austen, Vonnegut, Camus, Sartre, Hesse, a bunch of other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head. Some were better than others.
Edit - this was in high school, not college. Engineers are too cool for english classes

I'd rather read the pulp fiction than works written by authors paid by the word. IJS...Uzique wrote:

for example
if it's lunch time, and you've both got a break from your respective duties for eating lunch, then ask her to lunch, don't pay, would be too forward and awkward
if it's just a break, then just 'shoot the shit'
yeah I already assumed you're at college or whatever

nah class ends at 3. I myself am done with the day after that, I'll ask if she's got any more classes and if not I'll invite her to grab a drank.

For myself as well. He actually asked how many of us had read it already and a good portion of the class said they had. He said "alright, well we're going to take a deeper look into it than your high school class".Macbeth wrote:
