Maybe. I'd say Amare has a decent chance if he continues playing the way he is.
Blake Griffen is a shoe-in for ROTY, definitely.seriously? you don't even know that griffin is a rookie and you're trying to tell me who's the better player this season? LoLburnzz wrote:

Sure he is.good one, chiefThe day before the 2009–10 season started it was confirmed that Griffin had a stress fracture in his left knee, delaying his NBA debut for seven weeks.
griffin never played in the 09-10 season, therefore 10-11 is his first season witch makes him a rookie. so yes, he is eligible for ROTY.
i'll just leave this here. yes, i know it's espn, but i'm pretty sure this is a better source then your opinion since you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Saw Russel Westbrook play the Lakers last night. He reminded me a lot of Derrick Rose.
And they don't give MVP's for defense.
why is your mascot a bear anyways, shouldn't it be like sammy davis jr. LOL!
then again the Islanders mascot is a dragon..

so, Griffen didn't play the year he was drafted? i thought he had, making him a non-rookie.
and btw, haibai how does feel to be known as Utah east?

if there's two guys with equal offensive ability, they'll look at their defense to decide what player to vote for MVP.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

besides, i don't see rose going into a decline right now, along with the bulls. we've only been healthy for 9 games, and rose usually plays better in the second half of the season.
fine with me, since we're better then then Utah westburnzz wrote:

I'm just saying, nothing's a given. Especially as injury-plagued as the Bulls have been. Defense doesn't get you many votes for MVP. Certainly no one is heralding Amare's or Rose's D. It's kind of laughable that you would think that weighs on the sportswriters minds.
It's all offense and overall team performance. If it was based on offense and defense Kobe would have a lot more than (1) season MVP. I still think it's a sham that Nash got a second over the Black Mamba.

holy jesus christ
looks like a bad pass from Curry that Dorrell Wright turned into a highlight
but Blake Griffen has plays like that every night

hmmmm.

hmmmm.
This from the lakers nation blog:
Jim Buss — the son of owner Jerry Buss and the guy who is the real day-to-day head of the Lakers basketball-side operations — turned down a Carmelo Anthony for Andrew Bynum trade, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily Times. He says that Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant were dismayed.
the bulls visited the delta center last nite.
carlos boozer was a non-factor (14 points, 6 rebounds) but Korver and Brewer had no problems coming back - Korver put the bulls up by 3 with :13 left, and Brewer stole the inbounds pass.
the shitty part of this game was the way it was called - both ways, the refs wouldn't let either team go down court twice without calling a foul. totally kept both teams from getting anything going, and it got so ridiculous neither team went into the paint in the second quarter . . .

crazy!
maybe after phil retires this year we get jerry sloan next?!!

the reports are D Will pushed him out, but honestly, after his wife died i think he's just done . . .
i highly doubt D Will has the clout to remove a legacy like jerry sloan. He's been too good to the Jazz to have that happen. It seems like from the story it's more of a management shakedown, what with his assistant also resigning. Shame, he was one of the best NBA coaches of the last 20 years.burnzz wrote:

what? it's been well documented that dwill and sloan have had a rocky relationship ever since dwill was drafted.
dwill called a different play yesterday than the play that sloan designed and that pissed him off

play-calling and changing plays happens all the time. Phil demanded Kobe be traded more than once during his first tenure with the team (read Phil's book, it's all in there). The Jazz owe more to Sloan than anything D Will has done or could do (short of winning a title, of course). D Will doesn't have the clout to oust Sloan.HaiBai wrote:

it's official that Ty Corbin's the new coach. Sloan has said simply that his time has come, and the Miller family had always promised Phil Johnson the head coach when Jerry retired- Johnson resigned to make way for Corbin.
Sloan's a class act, and no one has won more games with a team than him. Any coach, any team. he's not saying so publicly, but i think his first wife passing away took some of the fire out of him, and the reports of the Jazz offering him an extension are false. They've always addressed Sloan's contract after the season's end.
From the news conference, and the fallow up on local radio, this isn't the first time that Jerry wanted to step down. it is the first time that he's said he's done, when Larry Miller wasn't the owner. the new owner came on the radio and said he told Sloan he respected him too much to argue with him, but asked if there was anything he could do to keep him. Sloan said no, there wasn't a single thing the Jazz could do that they haven't done.
so ends a career that lasted longer than 250+ coaching changes in the league, since he took over.

what Deron Williams had to say about Sloan's resignation-
"I would never force Coach Sloan out of Utah. He's meant more to this town, to this organization than I have, by far. That's not my place. If that was the case, I would've just said I wanted out before."
